If you enjoyed the Japanese culture exploration; I highly suggest Perfect Days from 2023
To be honest me and my whole family have a mild obsession with Japan. Funny enough, it was watching those studio Ghibli movies like my neighbor totoro that got me first interested in japanese culture.. i just love how they approach everything with such intention… ive gone down rabbit holes reading about japanese tea making, japanese carpentry, caligraphy, automotives, animation, zen meditation….they truly put all of their effort in whatever they do.. it is unlike any other culture i have come across and i hope they continue to preserve it..
The kids and wife are going out of town.. i have the house to myself tonight! Im gonna check perfect days out. Thanks for the rec!

I couldnt recommend this film any more. It was so genuine and heartfelt. Unlike anything ive seen in a long while. Brendan Fraser knocked it out of the park as well as some japanese actors ive never heard of. It had the perfect tone and pace… i rarely say this but there isnt anything i would change about it. It was so well executed.

Planning a Zen Garden
Posted by Espritdescorps on 6/19/26 at 7:07 pm
Hello, first time poster here.
Im turning the backyard of my office into a zen garden and wondered if anyone had any experience with them?
I have a 35 ft by 74 ft yard… i was going to get a japanese red maple as the focal point and place some large rocks around a winding stepping stone walking path with raked sand/ gravel
No idea what im doing but ive always wanted one and its going to be a business expense so i might as well do it right…
The major issues i see is how to hell to acquire the large boulders as they are insanely heavy.
Thanks in advance!
