Didn't Freeman accept the Notre Dame job?

and he can still be close to home. Knows the area well to recruit it and won't have to go far
He meant that he wouldn’t have to leave the rust belt/Midwest area.

14 combined points against auburn and AM
Let’s not ignore the fact that our QB gave 14 points to auburn (not including tipped INT which is another 7) and the first INT killing a scoring drive. So essentially against auburn that is a 17-21 point swing that the OC had nothing to do with.
And a pic 6 + scoring drive killed by bad throws that have nothing to do with the OC. So 10-14 points against TAMU.

but anyone catch the scene where Max came to bench and Finley got up and walked away?
Yeah that was really awkward

Losses - Alabama, Miss St, Auburn, A&M
I kind of feel like we win against Miss st. In a normal season we would still have Vincent, while stingley would’ve played and Ward wouldn’t have been hurt. Not to mention we would’ve played them in like week 8 or so, being able to see week after week of them getting stuffed by zone defense.
Even if we just play the same way, adding in stingley and Vincent and ward not being hurt makes enough of a difference IMO.

Just say "1980"
Funny thing about that game is that Notre dame had like 4 INT’s and a fumble and still only lost by 7. It still counts as a natty but if ND wasn’t careless with the ball, they win by 2 or 3 TD’s. It came on a couple weeks ago, one of those “classic CFB” things.

When your singular claim to fame is recruiting, that's unforgivable
And if this class stands his classes are (not including 2017, which he had a huge part in keeping together)
#15, #5, #4, #4 so his classes have only gotten better since then lmao
But yeah your right how horrible such a god awful recruiter ??

Weren’t both starting corners out plus a couple other 2nd and 3rd team DB’s having to play?

Just get Busch the hell out of there.
Our safety play has been atrocious this year, not going to excuse that. But we got a top 5 safety in 2020, have two more signed for 21 (+ 2 underrated 3*) and even though a lot can change we have two in the 22 class as well. That’s 5 TOP 5 safety recruits in 3 classes. So in a year where the defense as a whole has sucked there is no way you can single him out and say we should can him.

One of the aforementioned friends was a state runner up power lifter.
My legs were tree trunks back then. If it’s possible for me to post a photo on here from my phone I’ll do it and include a little note just for you Lester. Besides if you saw all three I would not be the guy you doubted to do 315.

school (which I doubt but it’s possible).
I mean if you saw me it wouldnt be surprising. I just don’t think it’s the top percentile if three people in my grade do it. I never said it’s not impressive bc it is but it’s not 1 out of 100 impressive. If you just take the kids who played sports that involve a lot of lifting (football, wrestling, powerlifting) that’s like 3 guys out of 40 ish But I did say that none of us were nearly as fast as him so for his speed+strength I’ll bite.
quote:
Oly lifts all the time and almost no one is cleaning 315
Don’t they do sets of multiple reps all the time though? Just bc I can max something doesn’t mean I can do it 20 times.
quote:
Take a 100 people of the street and I doubt more than 1 could clean 315.
Right but 100 people aren’t high school athletes. We’re talking about top percentile of high school athletes and really just football players tbf. Max Johnson had a video on his Twitter power cleaning 315 in like April/May. I thought I read that Emery was doing 325 leaving highschool?
quote:
was gathered at midfield on the tiger eye
Except it happened in the locker room. Ya know an amped up room full of 20 year old dudes after an emotional win ( and arguably game of the season tbf); so some mean things were said. I’m sure saban and Dabo are just as professional in the locker room as they are in public, right?

Lol he’s frickin power cleaning 315
That’s like 1 percentile for his size
That can’t be that high up. Me and two other friends power-cleaned that going into senior year. All of us were around 6’ and 200 lbs. give or take a little.
Now speed wise? His speed+his strength is super impressive so maybe those two combined is 1 percentile. (Wouldn’t it technically be 99th percentile?)
Please don’t take this as me downing him bc I think he’s the dark horse of this DB class.

All have played their way out of their original draft stock
How can Boutte and Palmer have draft stock if the former is a Tr Fr and the latter hasn’t played much yet?
quote:
why should I have any confidence O won’t drive them to transfer/opt out
Why should i have confidence in your opinion when you aren’t even sure what players you are talking about?
Cmon dude be realistic. Wtf can we actually do? We don’t have the money to fire everyone and hire new coaches with decreased revenues. The 2018 class should be the bulk of this team and here are the 9 guys from that class still around.
Jarrell cherry
Chasen Hines
Micah Baskerville
Chris curry
Dare rosenthal
Damone Clark
Cameron wire
Jaray Jenkins
Nelson Jenkins
Jaray has been great, Baskerville has been alright and the rest either don’t play or aren’t that good.

Literally all of the talent on our team made it abundantly clear they didn’t want to play for Coach O
Right bc not a single blue chip recruit will take the field Saturday? I swear some of y’all need some Xanax man.

I like the decision here to give a kid who has looked more like a future starter the reps...good, bad or ugly
Just a serious question, how do you know Johnson wouldn’t have looked just as good/better against USC or Arky? It’s based on those two games as to why you want Finley, but do you really think Johnson wouldn’t have looked great against those two?

He entered the game on our third offensive possession last weekend. The score was 3-0. That drive started on the 20 yard line, and we went three and out. He threw a 1 yard pass and a 2 yard pass. That was not him at a disadvantage.
Stop lying dude lmfao. Go rewatch the game bc Max Johnson’s first drive started at the 1 yard line down 3-0. (TJ’s drive before MJ went in ended with 5:20 left in the 1st. They had it till like 3:00 when we got it back at the 1) The next A&M drive was the 50+ yard TD run. On the ensuing drive MJ started at the 25 down 10-0.
By the way in his first drive he completed one pass for almost 6 yards and had Gilbert run to the sticks it’s a first down. So I’m not sure what drive you are thinking of with the one and two yard passes.
quote:
He threw some really poor passes that he was lucky were not intercepted.
I’ve been saying this about TJ since the USC game. (1st and 15 to Jenkins, left side of the field, just over 5 min left, #24 for USC takes himself out of the play. Could’ve easily been picked off. But I digress)
quote:
Finley came back in, threw a 54 yard pass and then an INT
Btw Finley didn’t just throw a 54 yard pass and the. A lil ole darn INT LMFAO. He threw a 14 yard completion that the receiver ran for 40 yards AFTER the catch. Then he completely missed his target and killed a scoring opportunity. (Boutte play in between was nice but sadly not a catch)
But how beneficial is it to have a QB who makes great throws followed by horrible misses and INT’s? I don’t care if a guy can make the NFL throws If he can’t help but make a High school throw right after. That kind of play won’t get us near a national title.

Well my question is why did he go on Fox news to start? Has Nick Saban ever, I mean ever, been on Fox, CNN, MSNBC, or wherever? Has Urban Meyer? He has 3 NC's, Dabo, he got 2.
Stupid PR move from the start. Why go there? Why put yourself in a position to have to even answer a question pro or con about a sitting President, who is highly controversial, in a contentious election year?
Oh booohoo cry me a river. Not a surprising take from a TJ nut hugger. You literally keep saying this everywhere and I can’t help but feel like it has something to do with him getting his arse chewed out

Dinardo did indeed “bring back the magic”
I know recruiting wasn’t as accurate in 99 as it is today, but he did get the #1 class; has to be at least a top 10 class nowadays. So even during a bad two year period he was getting great players. I never watched him bc I was born in 98 but he must’ve been a good recruiter.
