I have heard of the horrors of his defense but I was too young to remember how it worked.

The scheme was a lot of LSU's defensive players on the sidelines after they gave up a TD going over defensive plays on a VAT board with Tepper. Tepper's look was frustration and the LSU defenders' look was confusion! The outcome was oil and water. It didn't mix!

But the fanbase, in my opinion, is generally a fairly accurate gauge of the team.

Tiger Authority,

Obviously you have this TIGER team confused with the University of Georgia. Are you sure you're not a UGA fan lurking about?

LSU integrated its teams around the same time as the rest of the SEC. Not really an excuse for his inability to beat the Bear.

Actually LSU was the last team to integrate in the SEC. Mike Williams was the first to play in 1972, but Lora Hinton was the first black football recruit. In 1971 LSU went up to Madison, Wisconsin to play the BADGERS and the fans and students up there were shouting insults to the LSU squad for not having any black players. LSU still won the game.

The only game we lost that year, we were ahead of Ole Miss (w/ Archie Manning) 23-12 in the 4th Qtr and Mac kept playing the second and third string QB's. Ole Miss came back to win 26-23. Pathetic!

The 2nd string QB was Buddy Lee who became the starter in 1970 as a senior over the sophomore Bert Jones. Buddy Lee was not a bad QB as a junior in 1969. The 3rd string QB was sophomore Butch Duhe, a rising star at that time. Unfortunately Butch Duhe died in the off season before the 1970 football season, I believe of a brain hemorage. Mac's decision to play them in crucial parts of that game didn't loose the game for LSU. That game was played in Jackson, MS and OLE MISS was that good. Archie was having a helluva year. Remember LSU could have kicked a FG at the end of the game to tie it, but Mac elected to go for the win on 4th down. I can't fault him for that. At least Mac wasn't Pat Dye! :yack:

why do you have a picture of an actor who is playing a military character in your thread?

He was making a reference from a scene in the movie PATTON! Hence the photo of George C. Scott as General Patton from the movie. :dope:

That is a cool video and I agree with the other poster. Nice legs! :scared:

The bar/restaurant situation down by the GA DOME does suck. JOCKS N JILLS is no longer down at the CNN CENTER. There is a TACO MAC in its place. As someone mentioned there is a bar called STATS which is in walking distance to the dome on Marietta Street. It's OK, but not great. The better places are in Midtown and Buckhead which is no where near the dome. HTH!

I can't agree more! Ron Brooks last year during the beginning of the season was constantly pumping up the TIGER fans when the offense was flat. I too hope for a great future for him. He had a Helluva game Saturday night vs OLE MISS.

Buz
Relax! I for one don't mind the "thinly vailed negativity" when the Talking Heads talk about LSU and their victories. I feel this helps the TIGERS out. They have been focused for every game so far and I can't think this Friday will be any different. Besides once all the dust is settled and the TIGERS win the BCS for this year it will be said that this TIGER football team will be the best in NCAA History. They will have the schedule and the ranked teams they faced to prove it! "NUFF SAID!"

Buz :geauxtigers:
Saban is alot like the character Richard Widmark played in the movie "THE BEDFORD INCIDENT". If you haven't seen that movie you should check it out. A good movie by the way.

Buz
Brooks has always been a team player. Last year at the begining of the season when the TIGERS were squeaking by eveyone and the LSU fans were sitting on their hands and grumbling, it was Brooks that was waving his hands to the LSU fans to get them up and motivated. I was really happy for Brooks when he made that interception and got a TD against AUBURN. :geauxtigers:
