re: I think I’m beginning to like JT

Now that everyone is listening, here is some info about JT you may not know. His first college TD at USC was a 44 yarder. Yes, he likes the long ball, and that means when the Dawgs are at midfield, they are in scoring position. JT was the starting QB at Mater Dei High (the only high school in the nation to produce two Heisman QBs), when he was a freshman, and he called his own plays. That check down you saw replayed last night is old stuff for JT. About the play book, JT used to come to USC practices the summer before he enrolled. He stood behind the coaches and one day a play was run and JT noticed a player was out of position and asked the coach if they saw it. The coaches agreed with JT and admitted they hadn't noticed.
I have seen JT play over 13 games. 12 of those games were when he was healthy. I have a base line to base my observations, most of you only have baseless opinions. JT is still not fully recovered. To think that wasn't why he started earlier is folly.
JT is clearly not as mobile as he was before his injury
Guys. This is my first game going play by play. It's my fault!
This reminds me of JTs Oline at SC, except the dawgs can pass block giving JT time to pass
I tried to tell yall JT was "special" but I was mocked.

Based on his time at USC?

Yes, because I have seen him play. Have you? The only thing I have seen on this board about JT is people posting simpleton stats of passes/interceptions and a 5-7 USC record that somehow explains everything. There's is more to football than that. JT was behind the worst O line in USC history who specialized in "look out" blocks and with a center who couldn't snap the ball. That O line caused JT's injury, and injury to his backup, Kedon Slovis, who had to sit out a game. Its hard to pass accurately when you have to chase down the snap, then run for you life while D linemen are breathing down your neck. The O line was so bad, SC only got 9 rushing first downs in the last six games (that's half a season for those mathematically challenged). You, on the other hand, have a QB who has thrown 5 INTs the last two games and should have had at least two more intercepted. That's just based on what I have seen. :dude:

I am born and breaded in the South. Lived in Atlanta for 3 years, 1977-1980. Got to see that great 1980 UGA team with Herschel (sp?)

FYI I entered the USC fan portal in Feb of this year, and I am looking for a place to call my new team and I am considering the Dawgs. Regarding the QB situation at UGA, I think Bennett is a great story. Classic underdog who never gave up to become a starter at UGA. They make movies about these kinds of stories. He is someone to look up to in what he has overcome. I love The Postman handle. But, alas, I have had the opportunity to see JT in all the 12 1/2 games he played, as well as film from his high school years, and he is special. Great stories like Bennett, are just that, great. However, great stories don't win NC's, great athletes do. JT is a great athlete. If he fully recovers, he may be, maybe the one to lead you to a NC. I took particular notice to Coach Smart's statement earlier when he said, "Ultimately, we think Stetson gives us the best chance to win, RIGHT NOW (emphasis added). The "right now" part is a qualifier. I believe that qualifier is about JTs potential recovery. If JT is not fully recovered, then does anyone know who recorded, "Money For Nothing"? FWIW
