I believe Media Matters is the driving force behind the narrative. What I'm not sure of is who is behind what Media Matters pushes to all the 'news' agencies.

I'm also confused; it's clear that the person she's technically or not technically working for is a Republican candidate, but she's harvesting votes for Dems?

They're only playing to their base...I have a friend on facebook (he's an actual friend, guitarist for a band I used to be in) that posted a Yahoo article today about this screeching in all caps about how horrible Trump is and what a danger he is.
