I believe it was Shakespeare who once said "Brevity is the soul of wit." Truly, was he not correct?

Deus VULT! God Wills It! I'll get to resurrecting Pope Urban the Deuce, you start collecting the chainmail. It's too bad our pal Alexius I Comnenus isn't still around.

TBH I was one of those moderates. I thought in order for a Republic to function like ours, there had to be give and take. Reaching across the aisles and building coalitions between parties. I thought it was the path forward for a long time. Now though, now I weep for the future. I'm just so depressed at the conversations we're having. Instead of ones that could unify or bring together, we talk about stupid shite like identity politics, wokeness, and cultural appropriation. Really all it comes down to is "wypipo bad" in their view. I don't know what it was, I can only guess that it was the Universities that are responsible for this. I used to laugh when people brought up cultural Marxism, I know a lot better now after BLM and the statue bullshite. They want to erase white history, they say it's only the bad parts right now but just wait, when the white race is demonized, then everything they've done in the past will be demonized as well. I don't know about purging the moderates, I've always believed in winning people over in the market place of ideas. However liberals don't believe in that anymore, they just shut conversations down before they happen. If moderates only side with Democrats, are they really moderates though?
I wonder anymore, would we be better off with a parliamentary unicameral style government? Then we could have a true right, a true left, and a true middle. In the Federalist Papers, Madison talked about how the many factions in the viable parties would keep them from coalescing and turning into what we have now with the Republican/Democrat binary. I'd hate to say he was wrong but I'm starting to think he was, maybe he underestimated the influence of money?
