I know this isn't what you are asking but last night I put a cheapo pork tenderloin in a crock pot with some Blue Runner sauce mix and served over rice. Great easy dish.

A big problem we have today for everybody. Sometimes its a good idea just to chill and not make a splash.

This is just idiotic. They didn't say "don't moon the crowd" but nobody pulled their pants down...

You'll notice the list was not made by any serious food critic.

Also "pizza" is a subjective term these days. It's hard to compare and rank when you have so many different types of pizza

Neapolitan
Brooklyn Slice
Chicago deep
Chicago thin
Detroit square
St. Louis

I think its kind of idiotic to try to compare which is better when you're looking at a neapolitan wood fire and a chicago deep in the same picture. They're not the same thing.

yep ya got me, total idiot here.

Still smarter than you however.

Rogan's show has double the viewers of 60 minutes, not sure what kind of legitimacy a dog with fleas would give him. Other than baby boomers who are utterly delusional and think the former mainstream media is still telling us the truth.

But the protectionism and entitlement in the dealership world is insane.

People often use this as a justificaiton for letting the OEMs sell direct, and that's going to have the opposite effect.

Consider the current situation: scummy car dealers like Bowers and Benson and Ray Brandt (and six others) are all competing for your business in Greater New Orleans. If you really want to shop hard, you can go to Houston, Baton Rouge, or Jackson and try your luck there. Eventually you will find a deal you like and hopefully the dealer doesn't screw you too bad on the financing/lease and paperwork. In this case you were able to pit the dealers against each other, and they all came up with slightly differnet offerings that might fit your needs better.

If you wanted a red F150, one dealer maybe offered you a better price on a maroon F150 and anothe dealer might've had a better residual on a lease but it was a red Silverado.. you have lots of choices.

Now consider buying from Ford. You walk in, give your name, test drive a truck or two. Ford offers you three options. You don't like them and decide to try another dealer, maybe go to Baton Rouge.

Your name is already in the CRM and they have a copy of the same three offers, pick whatever one you want. Same offers. Same thing if you're not happy with the service and repairs. Who do you complain to, a local chain or a faceless regional manager in Detroit?

Do they let fast food restaurants file complaints when another moves in down the street?

Absolutley. If you own a franchise of a major food chain, there are plenty of regulations about where you can locate. Your franchise contract probably specifies where you can be in relation to other same-brand stores but may also contain language about competitors, traffic levels, etc...

In the 1990's there was a major lawsuit by Subway franchisees because they felt the corporate parent was allowing too many new franchisees to move into the territory of the existing stores.

I don't doubt that new car stores have similar agreements with their OEMs.

Well that sucks. I followed them from downtown to Harahan. Decent sandwiches and such.
You're making the fundamental mistake that there's two languages - Spanish and Portuguese. Spanisn has many dialects and some are almost languages unto themselves, like Catalan. They've all evolved along the lines of the sub-kingdoms that were eventually united under Isabella and Ferdinand (except Portugal),

Their pot roast po boy is amazing. Skip breakfast. Daphne and Fairhope.
I'd probably take a long walk to Gianna, Peche, etc... rather than eat in the quarter.

I mean it's 25 min to downtown New Orleans if traffic isn't completely f**ed so the whole metro area should be open to you. Its' not like you're in NYC or Houston and if you eat more than a few miles from the airport the drive will kill you.

I sincerely hope you have a very good time but this is why I avoid that place in the summer. It's a freaking zoo.

You could say the same for the nuclear weapons era. It's the deterrent that counts.

I find a lot in common between the cost and effort to arm with battleships prior to WWII, and nukes after. There have been very few decisive battles with either.
I've spent some time at that hotel, my wife's company had some off-sites there. It's a great spot to space out for a week and work half-days from your laptop. I prefer to go east from that spot, as the westerly areas are a bit high-risey built-up and not as beachey.

There is a little shopping mall and restaurant district walkable if you need to pick up some shirts/bathing suits or grab a bite. Nothing special but useful. Also a Publix for some supplies.

I love the public beach at the state park across 98. It's usually pretty quiet and remote compared to the abject zoo that functions around it. Enjoy some sunsets there.

Otherwise:

Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar - great seasonal hash dishes
Goatfeathers - great grouper sandwich
Seagrove Village Market - same
Redbar - fun spot, bar food
Georges' at Alys Beach - what Husk is to Charleston, kinda played out, but have to check in there if your idiot neighbors judge your instagram
Perfect Pig - solid lunch spot
Olf Florida Fish House

I also like to fish or crab off the pier under the 331 bridge. There are grills, I've literally boiled and ate my crabs on the spot.

This is a very odd thread, honestly.

Why?

The US government has a policy of sourcing their purchases from the US and some friendly countries in order to reward favorable foreign policy and preserve domestic manufacturing.

I've often wondered why, then, should we be able to buy all kinds of US flags and t-shirts/hats/gear for the armed services, nasa, etc... that are made in unfriendly countries?

While there is no copyright on most USA federal documents and branding, I believe there should be some sort of restriction that prevents making US flags, US Army or Nasa t-shirts and ballcaps in sweatshop nations.

Hate dogs on airplanes. Wouldnt' want my dog on an airplane, let alone someone else's.
