Sean wasn’t a good coach because he had Drew. He’s just a really good coach. He takes players talents and builds around them. He’s also great at scheming and game management. Give him a decent roster and he’ll win. That’s what good coaches do. He demands that players fulfill their responsibilities.

Dennis Allen looked unsure on Sunday (go for it?, FG?, challenge?, timeout?). Kellen Moore has that unsure look sometimes too (Rookie coach perhaps)…play calls, substitutions, red zone calls.

TBD...for sure.

Shough needs to get better in the Redzone. I don't think he threw a pass into the endzone once they were in the Redzone. KMoore, didn't help with the playcalling but if Shough figures out the Redzone play I think he can be pretty good.

Hated the way he left the first time. Closed mouths don’t get fed…etc. Don’t know why they thought he could help…he wasn’t a locker room guy and physically small, concussed often and old. Glad he’s gone. What was his contribution this season? 10 catches?
We would need Shough to play lights out. Throw the ball all around and end up losing shootouts to other teams. The defense or special teams would make enough mistakes to lose games.

We’d know Shough was the guy and we’d still have a top draft pick.

Crazy times. Lol.

He was as solid as you could expect a guy to be in his 2nd game. Anyone that didn't see enough of Shough to realize that he has significant upside is just hating for any number of sad reasons.

I wasn't thrilled with the pick but I also didn't know much about him. Since he's been with the team he hasn't done anything that would make you dislike him Rattler, beat him out for the starting job....that's about it.

He'll have some tough games ahead for sure. Especially as teams watch film and figure out how to make it tougher on him. But tip your hat to him for what he was able to do and hope to see continued improvement.

Let's Geaux!!!!!!!!

Let's admit CSP is a jerk. He was our jerk and I loved every minute of it. He would troll the Falcons and they couldn't stand him. I miss the heck out of that. It was so much fun having a coach that would WIN and troll our rivals. Great times! I hope we get CSPanother "jerk" that can win.
After watching Bo Nix last night I came away feeling that we have a couple of guys that could be equally as effective. I think Kellen Moore has to do a better job of tailoring the offense to his talent. I know many will not agree but I kept wondering if Payton would be able to get this group to score more than 15PPG. Kellen has to coach better with what he has (which ain't much). Hopefully he can muster a win or two against our division rivals.
It’s weird as a Saints fan to see the huge amount of hate of Drew Brees. This may be the only fan base or maybe just this site that flames a guy that won their only SBowl.

I’m a fan because of his football play…not all of the other political/parenting choices/ business deals etc. Sounds like a bunch of biiitchy women at a hair salon. Lol.
The problem is you aren’t considering KM’s role in the losses. I acknowledge he’s a first time head coach but if he does a better job coaching perhaps we would have won 3 games by now. He’s got a hand in these losses too. No need to feel sorry…he’s not a victim.
Yeah. It's hard to go through a rebuild after having a decade of success. The party came to a screeching halt. We are in the process of rebuilding in a way we haven't done before.

When Payton was hired they grabbed a bunch of FA's to round out the roster. Over the years PayLoo would always load up on FA's before the draft so they wouldn't have to draft a position of need. They used draft picks as lottery tickets....hoping to hit a big star or so. But never to fully add several key depth pieces. Then they always seemed to get a few UDFA's to pan out.

Well if we aren't in free agency aggressively anymore (cap repair) guess what..... we need the depth and draft capital they've made a career out of discarding. And here we are>>> :violin: :violin:
Good Luck Shough. Nobody to throw to. We will be getting players from the bargain basement unless we hit on these picks and find hidden gems.

Veteran QB options for next season

Posted by Orndorf2 on 11/3/25 at 3:04 pm
I'm at a point where we will find out what we have in Shough good or bad over the next few weeks. It appears that Rattler will be at best a decent backup at the NFL level. We will need to bring in a veteran QB next year to pair with Shough, Rattler or anyone else they acquire in the draft. Who else is out there that would be worth bringing in to compete?

I know Carson Wentz will be available but who else could we target that may have some upside??
Loomis?? If left to his discretion Dennis Allen would be coaching and we would be well on our way to a 5 win season.

I mean it’s not just on him. No true leader at the helm. I hope KM can be strong enough to emerge and become the leader. Gotta be more than a coach to win with this organization.
Loomis will probably try to do his usual. Acquire a bunch of over priced free agents for areas of need so during the draft he can package all of the picks up for a long snapper and future 7th rounder.

KM took the job thinking he had a vet QB (Derek Carr). They didn’t plan on Ratt & Shuck. So they are scrambling and I give him a pass on his QB options.

However the other team sloppiness- penalties, odd play calls, clock management, team being flat…I’m critical. He can do better.

The only way this team can win offensively is to support either young QB with a competent running game. Kamara unfortunately looks like he lost a step. The offensive line is inconsistent. Kendre got hurt and Taysom is not explosive after injury.

Unless Shuck (I know Shough) surprises us and the receivers decide to catch….its gonna be a long finish to the season. All I can hope for is they compete and at least beat the Falcons once.
Olave must’ve played a lot of baseball because he slides a lot. I understand trying to get down to protect yourself but he’s looking for a place to slide as soon as he catches the ball! No YAC.

It's funny to see people wanting to entertain a head case, "psycho" wide receiver. We had that in Michael Thomas and then we didn't like him very much.

I don’t like our Def coordinator…Staley. I hate seeing pass rushers lost as they drop back in coverage. Let players do what they do best! We’re asking them to play to their weaknesses. Stupid.

Also we play so soft we concede 5-8 yards underneath almost every play. Terrible.

We can’t get pressure/sacks. The defensive linemen can’t get off of blocks. Do any of our blitzes work??
Wish we could’ve kept Payton in NOLA. He is easily one of the best in the league. Only the NFL execs kept the Saints from having more success. Frick Goodell!!
