Baxter's dad did go to UF, afterall...
This story is BS. Percy was catching passes with Tebow the day before he left for MN... There's no way the staff would let that happen if it was true.
Also, to the person that said a big deal was made of Tebow and Reggie Bush talking to recuits... What?
Of course Tebow talks to recruits; He's a current player. Recruits see him every time they take a visit. There is nothing illegal about that.

sorta like USC already being back in the top five ??
Yeah, seriously... How sick does that make you? Also, I don't understand how OU only dropped a couple spots... BS. They've played one good team all year and got beat.

This is probably Germans, but I don't understand why the first touchdown that McCray tipped into Harvin's hands is recognized as such a great play on Tebow's part? Of course the stats show a 70 yard TD pass, but in reality it was a poorly thrown ball and should have been picked off. Yet, every highlight I have seen, the commentator notes how great of a play it was by Tebow.
I sort of agree with you here. The media gets something in their heads, logical or not, and it becomes fact. I'm a little embarrassed every time I see that play. I mean, it counts the same on the scoreboard, but Tebow has been noticeably off this year. It was really odd coming back from teh game and watching Lou Holtz and Mark May put Tebow back up in the top 3 for the Heisman.

Number 2 - Florida never lost that killer instinct. Even when they were up by 20+, they were playing like it was a tied ball game. That's something we don't see a lot from Les Miles LSU teams. I always get the sense that once the game is in hand, even against SEC competition, the Tigers seem to go into a mode of going through the motions. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. You certainly don't want to have to sustain the emotion that it requires to do that every game. It's not sustainable and you risk injury. However, I think that it plays into the argument that LSU is lucky. The voters rarely see LSU absolutely blow away even bad BCS conference teams for 4 quarters (VA Tech being the obvious exception). Again, I don't know if it's good or bad in the long-term, but Florida definitely did that on Saturday.
In your defense, this is the first time in awhile I've seen the Gators show a killer instinct when leading big. I think we were extraordinarily up for this ball game. I hope it carries over to the rest of the season. Who knows, maybe this loss will be good for you guys. Our loss to Ole Piss motivated us, and you guys are definitely not lacking in talent. Do us a favor and knock off the Cocks and the Dawgs... Maybe we'll see ya in Atlanta.

Maybe so, but that's racing. Holiday cares more about football than racing and so doesn't pretty much everyone here. The 40 yard run is the most relevant gauge of speed in football. I have no idea what Holiday or Demps times are on these runs.
As mentioned previously, Demps is a Football first guy... He is also our leading rusher this year. Where is Holliday ranked in your lineup? I think that fact alone discounts the notion that Demps is a track guy, while Holliday is a Football guy.
Finally, the 40 yard dash is rarely, if ever, close to accurate. Even when they are claimed to be "laser timed," they are usually off. As I mentioned before, the 100 yard dash is the shortest olympic event, which is why it is most often cited by by college football fans (LSU and FL alike) when bragging about Holliday and Demps, respectively.
Another poster mentioned that Holliday has a better indoor 60 time than Demps. That may be true, but Demps didn't run indoor track in High school, so he's never even had had a chance to beat Holliday's time, even if he could. Demps has only run the 60 meter once, and he recorded a 6.71 at an outdoor track.

Hey Florida fan, you know Demps isn't the only speedster freshman you have on your team:
Chris Rainey beat Demps in a 40-yard dash, according to both Urban and Tebow - LINK
According to another article,
"The first race went to Demps. Then the second one stalled because Rainey said “he slipped.” Then the third time Rainey won." - LINK
Jeff Demps was a Rivals 4 star (#7 all-purpose back, #1 home-run threat) and a Scout 4 star (#36 RB in nation) for the 2008 class.
Chris Rainey was a Rivals 4 star (#4 all-purpose back) and a Scout 5 star (#5 RB in nation) for the 2007 class.
That is a scary combo of young RBs.
Yeah, it's pretty exciting to be a Gator Fan right now... I wouldn't be too upset to be a Tiger either. You guys are stacked, too. I always look forward to our games, and I'll admit that your fans party the hardest in the SEC.

He actually lost to Trindon in the finals. Demps was 8th and Trindon was 7th.........Just sayin. Demps time came in the qualifers.
Well, actually we were both mistaken. They never faced head-to-head, and neither actually made it to the finals to race. Demps had the better time in the first 2 quals, and Holliday had the better time in the Semifinal.

As to your most recent rant: Where did I say that Holliday wasn't a football player? I love the dude. I wish we had a few just like him. I was merely referring to the fact that a lot of track guys can be knocked down by a stiff breeze (Florida's John Capel comes to mind). Cool your jets.

No, you have the 60-yard-dash in indoor track and field, and Holliday was a star for LSU in that event as well as the 100. Not saying Holliday is faster than Demps in the 60-yard, I'm just saying its an event that Holliday was great at for LSU's indoor track and field team.
I didn't know that. Thanks. Regardless, we're arguing over hundredths of a second. I think we can all agree that those dudes are fast.

The best part as a Florida fan is that Demps looks like a football player first. He was dragging people around and making ridiculous lateral moves against LSU. I've always been a huge fan of Holliday, and I'm happy as hell we've got a guy who can run with him.
Well, if I'm not mistaken, it's the shortest race that is officially timed... It's also the event that brought Holliday so much fame as a College speedster.

Jeff Demps ran his 10.01 at the Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon... You know, the same trials where he beat Holliday head to head.

Freshman Girls? Grog House.
Also, I should let you know that the Purple Porpoise no longer exists. In its place is Gator City, which would be another good choice for a tiger fan visiting Gainesville. Cheap Drinks and LOTS of TVs. It's right across from the Stadium, so get there early.
Like other posters said, Swamp, Salty Dog, and The copper Monkey are all good choices. Avoid Balls. The name should be your first tip off.
Have fun, Tigers, but GO GATORS!
