I dealt with Ascension credit union the last 2 years my parents were alive. I wouldn't recommend them. Customer service was dismal and the technology wasn't great. This was 2021-2023
I love Long Beach Market and Deli. Taco Sombrero is a great fast food Mexican joint.
I have property in Tennessee near Chattanooga. Last time I was there wearing an LSU shirt, I got a "geaux Tigers" outside the restaurant. No chirping from Tennessee fans ever.

Which Tri-State area of TN?

Tennesee/Alabama/Georgia
Tennesee is where I'll be. Last year we bought 25 acres in the tri-state area. Have a purchase agreement on another 10 acres nearby with a small home on it. We love this area.

Flew to Puerto Rico on December 18th and returned on Christmas day. Finding a gas station to refill rental car was a little tricky on Christmas morning. They don't have pay at the pump and lots of stations were closed.

The trip was amazing and I think we will go somewhere tropical every year for Christmas going forward.

Sorry about your loss. Sounds like you're a good daughter

Thank you. My siblings and I all pitched in. I'm glad I had the ability to move nearby and help them.

Why do people feel they must live in BR because of family? We left BR and all our family was there. One by one they all moved too. It took us leaving to show them how nice other states were. You get one life. One. Don’t waste it by living in a shitty city.

I felt compelled to live near my parents when their health deteriorated. They are gone now and so am I. I've lived in other states and knew I would leave again. I didn't feel it was a waste of 4 years. You think I wasted years of my life taking care of my parents? There is more than meets the eye in any given decision. I didn't ask for life advice; just advice on neighborhoods.

I'm going to be buying a house in BR in the next few months. Don't try to talk me out of it

Edit:
Someone bumped this 4 year old thread. I've already bought and sold. Moved out of state

You should have let them talk you out of it
apparently.

FYI I moved to BR to be near my parents because of their health issues. They are both deceased now and I moved as soon as I figured out where to go.
I bought a house in Jefferson Terrace in December 2020. I sold it last month.

We were at the game too. Very disappointing offense for the Pirates. Was really hoping they could beat the Cardinals.
Oh yes, I like Favazza's on the Hill.
Bristol for higher end. Sugarfire for bbq.

I second Butchart Gardens!
I loved this hotel. It was beautiful and clean and our corner suite was amazing. It was the size of an apartment. Probably one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in.

The Basilica is amazing. Go to the Arch before the Basilica. The Arch will be underwhelming if you go after the Basilica. The botanical garden is very beautiful.

re: Cutco Knives- they any good?

I've had Cutco knives for years. I recently sent 2 in for sharpening and they sent back new knives. I now live close to a store front so getting them sharpened will be easy.
