I'm not sure if it's the city or the media, but someone keeps perpetuating this $20-$30 million figure as the cost to demolish the plaza tower. That number is wildly low. You could literally add a zero to get the real number. It cannot be dynamited due to proximity of other buildings close to it, and the asbestos contained within the building. It would have to be torn down with cranes and largely by hand. A good comparable would be 270 Park Avenue in New York. It was torn down in 2019 and cost $160 million for that. I think everyone can guess how much more expensive construction is now than in 2019.
Maybe I'm missing something here, but wouldn't you want Scheffler as unquestionably the best player in the world to be playing his own ball the whole way? Essentially have him play fourball on both Friday and Saturday.
Have to be in Buffalo on Saturday related to the Saints who are playing there on Sunday. Looking for a bar in the Buffalo area that may have a LSU alumni connection or just a Tiger fanbase to watch the game Saturday.

Any recommendations?
It's because trashy people of that demographic want to be able to walk a weapon on a leash.
I am happy to report that over the last several weeks if not two months, the new superintendent that Troon brought in has gotten the golf course in tremendous shape. The greens have been in the best condition we've seen in possibly 20 years. Fairways are plush, and the rough is cut to appropriate height. Bunkers still often lack consistent amounts of sand, but the membership understands how much it would cost to rebuild all the bunkers.

I never even saw the ball touch the ground
LINK

This article goes into detail of what the current flood protection system for New Orleans can and cannot protect. New Orleans would still be very susceptible to flooding from "the big one "
I closed and reopened the app but when you click on the LSU broadcast, it takes you to one of the other games. It's like they didn't update the link in the app.
This country could be completely free of fossil fuel generated electricity if we wouldn't be such pussies and NIMBY's about nuclear energy.

RIP

He bought me a beer at The Clevelander Hotel & Nightclub on South Beach the night before the Saints Super Bowl.

The unique issue there is it is pretty inconvenient to access the facilities and they have like a 60,000 square foot clubhouse to maintain

This. I say all this as a current member.

The clubhouse is 43,000 sq ft and has massive overhead for utilities and maintenance. The food and beverage has not been anything enticing since Poon purchased the club. So the F&B revenue from the relatively small membership is minuscule. We see events like weddings out there every so often, but not every weekend or anything close to what would be needed to have it survive as an event space. Probably the most profitable thing they've had for the club in several years are rare filming rentals of the facility.

So you've got this massive building that was basically built as the community center for a very upscale gated community back when virtually every homeowner was required or just wanted to be a member of the club. The demographics of the neighborhood have changed drastically over the last 20 years to wear roughly half of the homeowners probably have no interest in the country club. There is no HOA requirement or incentive to be a member of the club. They take pretty sizable losses every month due to overhead and F&b.

Onto the golf.... The course is still the best layout in the city and is usually in good shape ....except for the greens and tee boxes. They did a surface level reinstallation of new greens in late 2021 that were nice when they opened with a new type of grass called mach one. Only problem is that they have completely killed the greens twice between 2021 and now due to lack of watering. So when there are constantly dead spots and growth issues with the greens now, I can't even really blame it on the turf provider. The tee boxes are often bombed out and in sandy condition just due to laziness and bad maintenance practices in my opinion.

The course does get a lot of nonmember play, which helps overall revenue. Im told the golf course by itself does turn a profit. However, they are kind of in a Catch-22 to where they have made outside play cheap enough that a lot of members have quit and just paid the daily guest fee of about $85. Monthly dues for a single member are $300. If they increase the daily nonmember fee to $120 or more, I suspect outside play would all but dry up. And until they consistently improve the condition of the greens, they cannot grow the golfing membership base.

I'm honestly not sure what troon will be able to do to to stop the losses on the clubhouse/food and beverage side. And I'm not sure they can significantly improve the greens without completely redoing them again at this point, which I'm sure no one is putting up the money for.
Wycombe loses today while Wrexham wins 3-0! Today just may have clinched Wrexham going up!
What are some of the better non-strip club watering holes in myrtle?
Will be returning to Myrtle for the first time in 10 years for a guys golf trip. On the last trip, we went to a strip club called Masters that was pretty big and pretty fun from what I remember.

Is it still the place to go? Any other strip club recs in Myrtle?

That’s $65.428 million in post-2025 dead money for the Saints, flowing directly from the Carr contract.

So we're basically fricked for the next three years. Thanks a lot Loomis.
Probably the most painless way to die is carbon monoxide poisioning. You get a little lightheaded and then fall asleep for good. You can't tell me that it's cruel and unusual punishment. Would solve all the issues of not being able to get lethal injection drugs for political reasons. Cost the taxpayer nothing and probably would get no headlines.
Y'all aren't gonna believe this, but I know for a fact from his transportation coordinator provided by the Krewe that Shaq wanted to leave right after the ride to go bang some girl in Baton Rouge. Evidently it was ordeal for them getting on the interstate away from the ball.
Got this idea from a recent movie, but won't say which one so as not to give spoilers....

Let's say a star WNBA player, we'll just pick Caitlin Clark for the sake of the argument, has a routine surgery like getting their appendix removed. Let's say it's discovered during the surgery that the female player also possesses internal male genitalia (testes). The player, who otherwise has all female anatomy, would've had no way of knowing this without body scans or prior surgery. These male organs ostensibly give (or at least indicate) the player some physiological advantages over other completely female players. The information found during this surgery somehow becomes public.

How do you think the league and the media react to this situation?
