Saying he is on a bender is pure speculation. I've seen many people (myself included) melt down due to stress/shock and it had nothing to do with drugs.
His ramblings here seem more lack of sleep/stress induced than heroine use to me. Heroine doesn't typically make people lose their minds the way...
