E85 fuel
Posted by Oldirontides51 on 4/13/25 at 8:23 pm
Recently bought a used vehicle that is E85 approved. The previous owners used regular 87 octane.
As of this morning, the E85 was exactly 50 cents a gallon cheaper at Racetrac.
Is there a downside to using it? Less fuel mileage, possible engine damage long term?

Do you know if it will be stopping in DeRidder? I would like to see it but didn't want to go all the way to Shreveport.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thought about that but it's not an option because there is not enough room in the car after luggage, Christmas presents, etc.
Transporting turkey breasts
Posted by Oldirontides51 on 12/17/23 at 4:54 pm
I am cooking two boneless turkey breasts in the oilless fryer on Thursday morning and driving about 6 hours to my destination. Planning on having them for supper there.Your suggestions on how to best keep them hot( or at least very warm) without drying them out? I am concerned that they will continue to cook in the cooler and dry out.
Thank you!
Thank you!

I would highly recommend "The General Ledger." In an old bank building facing the tracks.
Excellent service, excellent food.
Was there about a month ago and if I ever get that way again I'll definitely go back.

Haven't been in about a year. Didn't even know they dropped popcorn.

I'm sure it's really tasty. But notice it doesn't say ice cream on the label. Frozen dairy dessert.
re: What’s your favorite candy?

Was at Albertsons tonight and they have candy bars on sale. Buy 2, get 2 free.
Had plenty of Mr. Goodbar. I got four.
So hopefully you have an Albertsons close to you.

The part about Chicago to New Orleans is also very misleading.
He did say 8+ hours true enough. Better add a lot of hours to that 8.
IF it's on schedule, and that's a big if, you're looking at more like 20 hrs.
Shameful that as technically advanced we are supposed to be that we can't do better than that.

Got to run the Norfolk & Western 611 back in 2018 in Spencer, NC. Quite a thrill it was!
Great day!

Supposedly well educated people who pronounce "for" as "fir" or "fur".
Gets to me. Probably shouldn't. But it does.

I second the Flonase suggestion. Been on it for about a month now. No more problems with allergies from day one.

re: How old is too old to get fake boobs?

Just a wild guess, but you paid for girlfriends fake boobs and shortly thereafter she up and leaves. I might be wrong but....
My ex- girlfriend wanted me to buy her a new pair. I told her nope, wasn't spending my money for someone else to enjoy them somewhere down the road. No regrets.
