Okay Sparky, a little historical perspective for you....LSU has won eight NCAA National Championships in college baseball, with only two coming in even years, 1996 and 2000. The other six were won in odd years (1991, 1993, 1997, 2009, 2023 and 2025).
It is time for you to put on your helmet, get on the short bus, and pay attention in remedial math class in order to learn what numbers are even numbers and what numbers are odd numbers.

When he starts a kid at 1B that clearly hasn’t gotten reps at 1B and misses a basic cut for a 1B that’s on the coaches. You can’t blame Serna. Kid is a star. He’s young and introduced at a new position and looked like he’s never been coached on what to do there. When you take a freshman that’s played his whole career at SS and move him to 2B you can’t blame the kid. For people to be saying Ruckert should hit the portal have no clue what they are talking about. I’ve seen the kid play throughout HS. Kid is a star. He’s young. He’s exactly what we need here. But the coaches aren’t preparing the kids for the situations they’re putting them in. Full confidence in JJ to figure it out but this is on JJ and his staff. Clearly the kids need to perform better but it’s also abundantly clear their preparation isn’t there either. That’s on the coaches. High standards here. Accountability has the high for both coaches and players.
So much supposition and utter BS was typed out in the above. If you would have paid attention to any of the fall or pre-season work-outs/scrimmages you would know that Serna played at 1B on multiple occasions and that Ruckert played 2B on many occasions. This is not including the practice session in which it is a safe assumption that cross-training took place, because it does.
As to Ruckert being a "star", the jury is definitely still out on that one. Kid may have been great in HS, but he has not flashed anything on the collegiate level up to this point.

3 out of 11 other players on the field
What freaking baseball league allows 11 players on the field at the same time?
Baseball = 8 position players + 1 pitcher on the field with a designated hitter.
8 + 1 + 1 = 10
so what position does the 11th man play?

Not so fun fact: Kelly is the only LSU coach to lose to aggie twice this century.
Ed O lost to aTm in 2018 (72-74) and 2020 (7-20). I do believe that is also twice in this century.

Rousse also hired The General, then McNeese won 29 games, made the tourney and won a game to final 32.
Might want to check your timeline. If you said the AD hired Wade then okay, Rousse was at McNeese when Wade was hired, however he was not the President at McNeese when Wade was hired.
7/1/2024 Rousse hired as the eighth president of McNeese.
3/12/2023 Will Wade hired as BB coach at McNeese,

The Portal class, right?
JUCO players do not need to enter the portal in order to matriculate to a 4 year institution. Therefore, they are part the 2026 recruiting class and not the 2026 portal class.

I can't believe someone that went to a junior college qualifies for a HS class, two years after he left HS, right?
There is no such thing as "HS class". There is the annual recruiting class which will include HS and JUCO and then there is the portal class which will be transfers from other institutions.

There’s been a lot of buzz that if Gayle ever wanted to sell Saints the Fertittas would be interested in them.
One of the disqualifying factors for NFL team ownership is ownership of gambling establishments. The Rooney family had to restructure ownership of the Steelers due to some of the Rooney siblings business interest in gambling establishments that had slot machines, among other NFL ownership requirements that were at issue. In order for the Fertitta's to own an NFL franchise, they would have to divest their interests in casinos.

Not sure whether to put this on recruiting board or not but I have never seen it discussed. Is Peoples going to coach edge or DT? Will he and Lucas have a mixed approach? Just seeing Peoples visit Toia today and another DT yesterday. Never remember Peoples ever visiting with DTs in the past, and wondered if that is shedding light on what he will focus on.
Just an observation for discussion.
Coaches are assigned geographical regions for recruiting purpose in addition to position specific recruiting. This way you can cast a wider net in the initial stages of the recruiting cycle.

I may be confused, but didn’t the athletic department use to give the academic side 10-12 million every year?
Is that still the case
LSU Athletic Department pays LSU (the school) for the tuition and fees, housing, etc. for the scholarship athletes. A pure donation from the AD to the school was discontinued several years ago.

It also makes me wonder how many players on average who enter the portal every season and don’t get picked up.
According to On3
2021 67% transferred to new schools and 0.25% withdrew from portal
2022 65% transferred to new schools and 2.59% withdrew from portal
2023 65% transferred to new schools and 1.67% withdrew from portal
2024 69% transferred to new schools and 3.14% withdrew from portal
2025 68% transferred to new schools and 3.65% withdrew from portal
2026 (so far) 66% transferred to new schools and 1.37% withdrew from portal
So roughly 70% of players who enter the portal come out the other end. 30% made a bad decision. Now, as to the veracity of the On3 numbers, who knows.

See ya in hell, Tiger fans!!
I'll tell you where to find same:
1. go to either 247 or On3 transfer portal page
2. click on the icon of a school with a new coach
3. count the transfers from previous school
4. toggle to a different school and repeat #1-#4

Thats without 3 transfers still not accounted for in their system
The JUCO transfer is listed under the current recruit section (2026 Recruits) and not the transfer section of 247 and On3 rankings (see link below). So only 2 transfers not accounted for in the rankings. However, 247 does not have the 2026 CB from Florida that recently committed to LSU.
Jones is listed under "Hard Commits"
