I wonder what the repercussion would be for Sexton's other clients that Sexton is working hard to place at SEC and other top jobs? Jimmy would have a lot of explaining to do to ADs who had offered top dollar and NIL commitments. Would this be akin to killing the goose that lays the golden eggs? Dowdle and Armstrong would be licking their chops.
Ole Miss claims some questionable "National Championship" in football, as well. Nothing from the major polls (AP and UPI (coaches poll).

1959 Dunkel, Sagarin, Billingsley & Berryman

The term "Berryman poll football" refers to the Berryman Quality Point Rating System (QPRS), a mathematical formula developed by Clyde P. Berryman to rate sports teams, including college football teams, to determine national champions.

1960 Football Writers Association of America

1962 Litkenhous

The Litkenhous Difference by Score Ratings system was a mathematical system used to rank football and basketball teams. The Litkenhous rating system was developed by Vanderbilt University professor Edward Litkenhous Jr. and his brother, Francis Litkenhous.

So we are thinking that after OM beats Miss St, it will the first time in history Ole Miss had a 11 win regular season, OM will be going to the playoffs, with a good chance to win a NC, new contract that equals LSU s offer on the table, plus 25 mil NIL money, and we think he is going to stand up to the mic and say I'm taking the LSU HC position and walk away from OM with a chance for a NC. I hate to say it but he's playing LSU. He is not walking away from OM and a chance for the playoffs and a NC.

this choad definitely catches.

What is all this talk about UT and Bama opening up?

Where is this coming from?

The deep insecurities of several Tiger fans.
Auburn was selected by Montgomery Full Season Championship as the 1958 National Champion. both the AP and UPI (coaches poll) selected LSU.

From Google AI:

The Poll: The "Montgomery Full Season Championship" is a reference to a 1958 college football poll that declared the Auburn Tigers the national champion based on their 9-0-1 record.

Controversy: The claim is controversial because no evidence of this specific poll's existence has been found, making it a source of debate and ridicule in college football discussions.

Yea I know. That’s my point. Even an MOU would be meaningless and we don’t EVEN have an MOU as we sit here today.

In general a MOU is not legally enforceable. However, if an MOU includes all the elements of a valid contract—such as an offer, acceptance, consideration (like an exchange of money), and a clear intent to be bound—it may be treated as a legally binding agreement.

I got slammed a few days ago for mentioning (and spelling his name wrong) that LSU better have its ducks in a row because Lane will, without a doubt, drag this on as long as he can just to hurt LSU. Every day this drags out it puts LSU, its players, and its recruits standing there with doubt.

He’s still Ole Miss’s coach. Don’t forget that. That school would love nothing more than to destroy the soul of LSU.

I want Kiffin as HC AS much as anybody, but I don’t trust Ole Miss or Sexton…and this situation stinks like straight SH!t.

armydude, just a couple of days ago you were lamenting the end of the LSU coaching change cycle and wanted it to go on longer. armydude 11/19/25 post

here was my response to you in that thread dated 11/19/25 Coaching changes board response to armydude

WTF is that shite. Hope they lose, to Mizzou and us

It looks like a blind monkey designed the uniforms for both teams (OU and Mizzou). This game is making my eyes bleed.

think above probably explains OM’s puzzling statement yesterday. Ole Miss is in an awkward position where they can’t suspend Kiffin or tell him to hit the road. They don’t want to “force him out” and forfeit that $4m. It’s a weird spot for Ole Miss to be in, and they basically have to let Kiffin leave when he chooses to do so. Unfortunately, for them, They can’t force his hand.

How much bonus money will be owed to Kiffin under the terms of his present valid and enforce contract with Ole Miss if the following happen:

1. Ole Miss wins 11 games?

2. Ole Miss makes the SEC championship game?

3. Ole Miss wins the SEC championship game?

4. Ole Miss makes the CFP?

5. Ole Miss makes the quarterfinals of the CFP?

6. Ole Miss makes the semifinals of the CFP?

7. Ole Miss makes the finals of the CFP?

8. Ole Miss wins the championship?

9. How much is the accrued accumulated bonuses that Kiffin has already earned that has not been paid by Ole Miss under the terms of the present contract?

There are mitigating circumstances and amounts to the Kiffin sided buyout.of his Ole Miss contract.

Firing would subject Ole Miss to a buyout, does Kiffin's present contract have a mitigation clause? If so, this is a non-factor if the terms of a new contract exceed the terms of the present contract. However, a firing would send an emotional torpedo through the OM locker room when the team is on the doorstep and place the post-season in jeopardy. The time frame from the end of the season until the play-off games will be 3 to 4 weeks (depending upon CFP seeding) which will give adequate time for an interim to rally the troops.

Suspending Kiffin at this point would not alleviate Ole Miss' bonus obligations and (see emotional torpedo rant above).

You let him coach the Egg Bowl, qualify for the play-offs and earn his bonuses, which in turn mitigate Kiffin sided buyout. Parties part ways.

It is called making the most of a bad situation.

This cycle has been really strange and it is because of Lane and Sexton creating leverage openly for fans and schools to see.
Now we have this delay in decision till the last game of the season.
Why would OM do this?
1) To settle things down and bring the focus back to football these last 2 weeks and insure their playoff position?
2) To allow time for OM and boosters put a better NIL package together?
3) Then Sexton leaks the LSU deal to see of OM will sweeten the pot?

Has LK really made a decision yet or is he waiting for OM new bid?
Has LK made has decision but hasn't told OM and requested the delay so he and the team can focus on these last 2 weeks to put OM in the best position of CFP?

I can see this breaking either way for LSU or OM.

The Matt Bowers' "Karma is a bitch" tweet is all you really need to know. A big money Ole Miss booster, who is an insider circle dweller, is publicly lashing out in anger. This man knows the score.

IMO, UF is a superior job to ole Miss and likely Auburn and Arkansas.

Why immediately deny to the hills you’re lack of interview w UF.

What do we make when we continue this week of Florida not hiring a new coach and still continue w these weird leaks of whom they are supposed close to hiring but never actually do.

I'll give you a hint.

1. There are roughly a dozen and a half job openings currently and only one has been filled. It was filled by an out of work coach. All hiring announcements will come after the end of the regular season, like they always do.

2. The LSU hiring will be one of, if not the first to be announced as other potential suitors will be waiting to see how that domino falls before giving pledges to other job openings. The period of November 29 - December 2 will be the action zone.

There are rumors that he’s already interviewed a couple people.

And has salary and other demand parameters for said other potential coaching hires.

Got it...Were they hoping the Memorandum of Understanding got signed today?

I am the wrong person to ask, as I have no inside information. However, I am very well acquainted with Employment Contracts (both drafting of same and working under same) and have some insight and practical experience in the coaching hire Employment Agreement arena.

On a different subject, in addition to the insight brought by bountyhunter (which is good information for the denizens of the Coaching Changes Board), there is one important thing I gleaned from Keith Carter's press release, to wit:

The press release was written with some very precise wording. Especially the passage concerning the conversations that had just taken place......next steps. If Kiffen was staying there are essentially no next steps in the process for the parties to undertake. This wording foreshadows that Ole Miss is aware that Kiffin will be leaving and has an agreement in place (albeit a verbal agreement at this point in time) that will be documented shortly with the Memorandum of Understanding.

so, how can he sign on the 23rd and still coach on 28th? Ole Miss gonna do an addendum to his current contract to allow this?

Chicken, the actual Employment Agreement will not be ready for signatures in two days. Drafts of the actual Employment Agreement will be passed back and forth between LSU's attorneys (who will draft said Agreement) and Kiffin's attorneys until all the fine details, wording and clauses are hammered out. This will take some time. What Kiffin will be signing will be a Memorandum of Understanding (also known as an "Offer Sheet") that will spellout compensation that was agreed to between the parties, termination clauses and the agreed up liquidated damages.

On the off chance that a contract could be finalized in two days (not a chance in hell) Kiffen signing will not make it enforceable until the BOS meet and approve the contract and empower President Rousse to sign on LSU's behalf. That is a lot to get accomplished in two days.

The Memorandum of Understanding can be signed on the 23rd without causing an adverse effect on Kiffin's current contract with Ole Miss.

If Auburn beats Bama, Bama will fire Kalen,

Kalen Deboer's buyout would be somewhere in the $65 to $70 million dollar range, that's a lot of cheddar for a two year tenure.

quote:

and all of a sudden the Kiffin sweepstakes will have a new participant

I don't think this is remotely close to being a true assertion. Kiffin was available when Deboer was hired and Alabama did not give him the time of day. Kiffin burnt a lot of bridges at Bama with his handling of the transition to FAU HC job and cost BAMA the 2016 National Championship (played in January of 2017) in the eyes of many important Bama boosters.

Personally, I would be more worried about the Texass job becoming available than the Bama job and I do not think that Kiffin would be near the top of Texass' wishlist.

Besides, Deboer is a good coach and will be a thorn in the side of all SEC teams on an annual basis. Will he win as much as Nick Saban? Probably not, that is a tough act to follow.
