Nah, they are waving the white flag for this season with the Castillo trade and putting Kirby on the market.
Agreed. We took in an Ms game last week while traveling for a wedding. They are pretty terrible. About half of their lineup are automatic outs. Couldn't get runners across when needed. Senseless errors. Felt like watching our Tigers this past season. They are definitely selling off pieces right now and rebuilding. Kade will be up sooner than later, and should be. But they are definitely not making a playoff push and trying to make him a part of it.

I have posted this elsewhere, but I live in SC and I am friends with many Clemson Fans, season ticket holders, and a couple of booster (albeit not big ones, but boosters none the less). They feel like Clemson is not keeping up and they are ready for Dabo to be gone. Some of them wete surprised he is still there after last year. I haven't talked to a single Clemson fan who feels like they even have a chance in the opener. Most feel like it will be a 14-21 point blowout. The game is played on the field and LSU has ALOT of pieces to put together, but LSU has way more pieces than Clemson. I think they will struggle again this year and Dabo will be out. I know he has won 2 National Championships, but that is in the distant past now and they are trending in the wrong direction.

Agreed! We just got back feom Seattle and the train stops right at the stadium. No need to drive and park which is really nice.

I would listen either way. What difference does it make if they are good at what they do?

I mean...Ole Piss and Tulane are about the same as programs, so, yeah, they kind of are going through the same thing...haha
re: Hypothetical: Blake Baker leaves to become a head coach after the season.
Posted by CharlestonTiger on 7/25/26 at 9:22 am to The Baker
I would go after Corey Batoon at Missouri, or Shiel Wood at Texas Tech, although he runs a 3-4 instead of a 4-2-5 and the 3-4 doesn't always hold up against SEC running games unless you have ELITE D-lineman and linebackers. For the record, Aranda also runs a 3-4.
But both of these guys would be great if we could pull them away.

re: If you could have anyone you want….Is there any other coach you would trade for Kiffin?

Didn't want Lane for many reasons, but have to admit that he has been great so far. To answer your question though, I would take Dan Lanning or Marcus Freeman over Lane. Jon Sumrall is in the conversation too, but he needs to produce at the power 5 level before really jumping ahead. We will see how he handles the SEC. I also think Matt Campbell would have done well here. As it stands we have Lane, so let's roll!

Of course this post links a Fox News article...

Totally trolling Kelly with that dig

Would you have saved it for when the music stops?
Would love to say yes, but I know how I was in college....probably not

Would you have blown through it before college was over?
Most likely! Partying and buying crap I didn't need.
quote:
Would you have given some to your family?
Absolutely! My parents struggled when I was young. The first thing I would have done is write them a check...then blown the rest on "hookers and blow" haha

Dabo gets blown out at LSU, I dont think he makes the end of the week.
If it is a blow out he will make it to October, but may not last the season. Unless they make the playoffs this will probably be his last year there anyways. The Clemson fans/boosters are getting very restless with him

re: Advice for a visiting Tiger

Make sure to schedule some time to eat at the Chimes (like tbe Esso club at Clemson) just outside the west gate of campus. Also, rhe original Walkons is there. Definitely go visit Mike in his habitat and just enjoy campus. As for seats, I prefer lower bowl a little ways up so you can see the field. Tiger Stadium at night is special. I live in SC and was at Clemson last year. It is fun....but not like a night game in Baton Rouge.
You will also need to figure out a plan for parking or ride share. Getting in is easy...getting out...not so much.
People will yell "Tiger Bait" at you all day, but if you are a good sport people are friendly and will help you out the day of the game. Every fan base had assholes....general rule is you will get what you give (unless you are at USCe.we can all agree they have the worst fans on the planet. .haha)
ENJOY! And have fun! Jealous that I can't be there. Death Valley is going to be rocking that night!

was almost comical how often we would go 3 and out to start out ranked matchups and go the whole first quarter scoreless.
Usually after winning the toss and taking the ball instead of deferring. When we did defer we would go 3 and out on the fiest drive of the 3rd street as well...so frustrating to watch.

Posted in another thread, but applies here too:
I live in SC and am friends with LOTS of Clemson fans, season ticket holders, donors, etc. They are ready to move on from Dabo. They see him as being passed by in the NIL era with his reluctance to play the game. Lots of people here think their success was more Brent Venables than Dabo. He also turned off a lot of fans with his "if you don't want to win, fire me" comments last year. If they have an early season like they did last year he will be out.
The Clemson fans here are all but conceding this game to LSU this year.
