Reason why LSU didn't recruit him out of HS. Processed at Florida. LSU was desperate for DL, but now processed here too.

Saban has received credit for the recruiting the best players when the purchasing power of the REC (Red Elephant Club) should have received that recognition. And it continues.

Saban simply instituted. arranged and organized the system. The Red Elephant Club exists.
I have one. Flawless, with or without suppressor.

They’ll sign a minimum of 2 DT’s in the spring portal window

Just like last year when they signed 2-3 and only one had modest contribution? They dont grow on trees, and the ones leaving teams in spring are the ones who wont play anyway because they didnt get into the starting lineup on their previous teams.

This DT absence was predictable and represents gross roster mismanagement, especially in these days of transfer portal- unless they can pull two (2) out of their arse. And dont say BK is avoiding transfers in preference of inexperienced first year players; if LSU gets their asses kicked next year because of a deficient D line, future recruits will bail.

Lost in all of this is the real value of a CONTRACTUAL scholarship. Firstly, a free year of tuition is of real subsequent value that brings in potentially very significant lifelong returns, and is also costly to the respective institution. Secondly, it is indeed a contract.

If, on the other hand, a player desires to maintain the right to leave a team whenever he wishes, he should attend that university by paying his own tuition. Then, quitting and moving on to another university, assuming he is academically eligible, would be unencumbered. It is indeed nonsensical that a player could be allowed to play, practice and learn the playbook with two different teams in 1 season.

There is a strong possibility that 2 of 4 of our already weak DLine players will go into the draft, and maybe a third.

This is totally untrue and its the reason why LSU is not going after a bunch of portal DTs

Some people are paid to KNOW- and not to ASSUME.
So, ASSUMING you are correct, then we still have only 4 Dline- who were not good against the run or pass last year. Is this what you wish to rely on?
And, BTW, both are STILL considering their draft status and both have projections as high as the 2nd round.

But, what if you are not correct?

Have spoken to multiple families with kids on his high school team. Every one, while they liked him as a person, could not understand why he was rated so high as a senior.

The high school rating system therefore was the failure.
Every bowl game not included in the playoff is of no value for any senior who has already proven his value.
2023 2nd team All SEC

take him if we get a chance
Survival rate (total population) 99.96%
Survival rate (<18yo) 99.9982%
NO. You dance with who brung you; no transfers.

Show the rest of the world they made a mistake by choosing another conference beside SEC. In turn, it shows future recruits what conference- SEC- will give them commitment and a choice about their future development and wont turn their back on them.

SEC must lead the way.

Assuming a continued football season will be fiscally positive, the SEC must lead the way for the nation in not bowing to overly-emotional hysteria.

1. Players with something to work for- an SEC season-will sacrifice more than if they were left to the own devices. This means they will be more careful with quarantining issues.

2. Players will undergo much better surveillance that if the season was cancelled.

3. Players have a 99.9% survival rate.

4. Adequate surveillance of cardiac health can effectively eliminate myocarditis as a post-viral issue.
