What kind of dumbass question is this? You drunk or stupid?

There’s a touch of sarcasm in most everything I post. Most of it is lighthearted and in jest. If you looked at life with a more “frick it” attitude you’d realize that in the end none of this shite really matters. I was trying to be funny, but it gets lost in people. Hence why I’m not a comedian. Enjoy the rest of your day.
I agree with this too.

I’m an empty nester as well my son, my oldest, had the desire to play all the sports and got mostly into powerlifting in college. He and his wife both participate in that. I didn’t really support him because that’s just not much of a spectator sport. But I did / do support him and his wife and support them 100%. He has that competitive spirit and played his arse off in baseball as a kid and high school football. He still has that mentality of preparing, focusing and competition. He’s now a successful lawyer and he preps his cases and is always prepared when he goes into a courtroom. I’m proud of him and I didn’t teach him hardly anything useful but I supported him.

My middle daughter was the wild child. She loved sports and is aggressive enough (tomboy) to do anything. She just lacked the focus to prepare. But now she’s found her focus as a wife and a mother and works part-time and is into the activities that her and her husband enjoy. She’ll be out in his shop helping him work on projects and does a lot of his social media stuff. There was a time I didn’t have much hope for her because she floundered at so may endeavors but when she found her “thing” she excelled at it. I’m very proud of her.

My baby girl has all kinds of crazy in her. But she’s brilliant (like her brother) and extremely competitive at self-competitive things. She’s not a team player type. She found her niche in dance and has danced all over the country. She went to college and now is in graduate school. I despised going to ballets and even begrudged all the away football games to watch her on the dance line, but I finally embraced what she embraced and learned to enjoy it too. She moved far away from LSU to attend school and I think she thought I would be upset. However, I’ve embraced this situation and I support her 100%. She’s pursing a career where athletics will play a huge part in her profession but she’ll be on the sidelines and will be able to do things she loves even if she’s not the one competing. For her, she competes against herself.

Your kids are not carbon copies of yourself. If they were, we’d all be like our parents. Just embrace their interests and encourage them and be there. Because when that house gets empty, those Friday nights get boring.
Do they practice free throws and layups? Because from a not-very-basketball-enthusiast it seemed like from the pedestrian eye that our team would get ridiculous rebounds but was unable to sink shots while USCe didn’t miss a shot.

I don’t know how you practice basketball, but I sure hope they practice actually shooting the ball into the net thing. That’s why we lost I think.

Again I don’t know Jack shite about this sport and have zero to light medium interest, but my wife enjoys it; and, she endures me during football season so I watched it with her. Sorry they lost but damn don’t fire the coach or the players, just practice more.
Always wanted:
1969 Camaro - Had an opportunity to get one. I drove one fully restored and after all of the wheeling and dealing it was still just an old car. The keys were the exact same as and the interior reminded me of my grandpas old truck that I used to haul parts in for him. So I passed up the opportunity. (Sidenote: I bought a brand ZR1 with Apple car play and about 900 horsepower.)

1958 Cadillac Coupe DeVille - still want
1957 Chevy Belaire Coupe - still want
1967 Chevy Chevelle SS - still want because my Dad had one and I’d love to give it to him.
1969 Dodge Charger - was getting one when I was 15 and my grandma was writing the check for it when my Mom stopped her. The next week Mom relented and my Aunt had already sold her car. Still want.
1977 Trans Am Screamin chicken. - only mildly want. Most of them are piles of rust.
1978 Corvette black/silver 25th Ann - mildly want. My Dad had one and it was awesome as a kid. In actuality, my wife’s SUV would smoke it.
1979 Ford F250 4x4 - kinda want. We had a ‘74 and sold it for a series of Chevy square bodies. I grew up driving a million square bodies and I have no interest in them.
1989 Chevy C1500 (with the 5.7) - had one and miss it every single day even though my side x side will run the quarter mile faster. It was just the oddness of the rounded exterior coupled with the squared interior.
2019 Corvette Stingray - was buying one in New Jersey and backed out because of the redesigned mid-engine version.

But at the end of the day, I wind up buying things I need rather than want. And if those are all my wants, I’m ok with never getting a single one.

I didn’t get into existential wants but I’m sure we all have plenty.

The answer is Curley Hallman. However, college football was not the “college football” it is now. Head coaches weren’t paid millions and not every game was on TV.

In the modern era, it is still absurd to not give Brian Kelly some hate. And here’s why:
Hallman’s salary at LSU 1991-1994 is around $85,000 - $90,000 dollars. Adjust for today’s money that’s closer to $195,000-$200,000. (LA Tech type money). Kelly’s salary was roughly $10,000,000.00 in today’s money.

My feeble math shows that Kelly was paid 11,000% PERCENT (appx 5,000% PERCENT using today’s money) more than Hallman!

So Kelly had to have won 5,000 percent more than what Hallman did. I’d venture it was less than 100%. It couldn’t be mathematically speaking.
Therefore on paper, Kelly is the correct answer for pissing away money and being the biggest flop in today’s “college football” despite Hallman clearly being the worst coach.

What about persons without a sense of smell? How do they accommodate for them?
I read the OP like 3 times and I’m thinking he’s trying to say Fleetwood Mac is not a top 100 (maybe?) band? I have no idea.

But Stevie might be one if the great ones. Fleetwood Mac is just different. I love most of their music. They’re no AC/DC or GNR, but they are way way better than Dave Matthews Band or Smashing Pumpkins.
My biggest pet peeve of South La is their inability to fry catfish. It’s cornmeal and grease not as in never flour. frick that flour fish shite. Any regular guy in Franklin Parish can cook catfish better than anyone in South La. Bar none.

North La has some damn good food, albeit it may not be Cajun or Seafood per se.

Monroe has some bad arse restaurants: Parish, Doe’s, Warehouse, Mohawk, Genusa’s, Hell even Cotton. The best fried catfish is at Catfish Charlie’s in Monroe or Browns Landing in Winnsboro. Catfish Inn in Jonesboro Hodge has some awesome catfish also!
Ruston has White Lightning Grill which is amazing. Crawfish City in West Monroe has better boiled crawfish than ANYWHERE in Lafayette and no there’s no sprinkling bar none (and I used to eat at Gator Cove in Broussard). Cajun food has Fontenot’s in Columbia (they all from Eunice tho).

But not all food is Cajun in NLA. There’s insane Italian, Mexican, and Japanese food in Monroe. Is it Lafayette or New Orleans? Nope - their food is better, but food doesn’t just suck in NLA. And yes people use seasoning.
I have fiber internet and the recent ice storm knocked it off for about a week 5 days. The reason had to do with the switching station losing power. My Dad still has satellite at his house, but his dish itself froze and couldn’t get any channels until the ice melted. He has ATT hotspot box that worked just fine, so I hot spotted from my phone to the TV. It worked meh, but I thought fiber being burried to your house wasn’t supposed to go out. But it sure as hell did. We used to have internet via cable and went out all the time as it was attached to poles, but remarkably that service (I still have that at my office) never went down.

I’m thinking about ditching this unreliable fiber bullshite and just get an ATT or TMobile hotspot box with unlimited. It’s way cheaper. And the cell towers rarely go down in a storm as the compounds have backup generators.
Since I caught COVID in 2021 I average 2 hrs / night.

This Winter storm I was awake Friday - Sunday night. However long that was no sleep.

The older you get the less important sleep becomes. You’ll get microdises of it like: while driving, sitting in Dr offices, work, sitting in car while wife is in Target, toilet, etc. but a night of evening news and crawl in the bed for 8 hours is myth at this point.

I don’t think Les is from Indiana but I’m blaming him for losing control of this Hoosier team.

We flew into MIA late a couple nights after Christmas and we looped out over the ocean on approach and when we banked to make the turn it was cool to look down and see all the old Art Deco hotels on Ocean Ave lit up with the high rises in the background.

We flew to Miami New Years. And that Atlantic approach and the Miami skyline is hard to beat.

He has a better chance of passing the insurance agent exam and selling insurance to NFL folks than actually participating in said sport.

Which one would this qualify under?

Movie/TV Board probably.

Or, and this might be a novel thought, you simply ignore the topics that don't interest you

Which is what I do. But 25 is my limit on the first page so if there’s 21 about something something someone McSomebody basketball, I only get 2 football threads without having to go to page 2. It’s super annoying. Sorry.

But still can’t spell his last name correctly?

I did spell it correctly. Phone unspelled it correctly. Fixed it. Sorry. I agree.

So you don’t watch at all….

Last men’s basketball game I went to Shaq played his final home game in regular season.
Supporting doesn’t mean I have to watch until the tournament.
I’m still in the recruiting / Kiffin / football phase as the Natty doesn’t kickoff until Monday night.

I support ALL LSU athletics but how nice it would be to understand the context of what people are griping about on the Rant. I had to google to find out apparently LSU played a basketball game against Kentucky and lost at the buzzer. Oh well that sucks. But it still doesn’t rain on my parade that we got Longstreet yesterday!

So why not have 3 separate boards? That way the round ballers can gripe with like minded folks and us stupid people can gripe about football year round.
I curse like a sailor who met his wife at a truck stop; however, I make it a point not to take our Lord’s name in vain. I’m guilty of it, not proud of it, and I’m a sinner nonetheless. I agree with OP’s remarks but I can’t like a post worded that way. Now had he dropped an F bomb then I probably would have hit the like button.
