re: I can’t be the only one that smells leaking gas on Nicholson between Ben Hur and Lee
Posted by MaximillianPayne on 9/18/26 at 11:16 am to TigahFan4Life
We randomly smell it in our neighborhood too. It's quite noticeable. We called the gas company once and they said they were getting all kinds of reports of the smell around the city. But they had no idea where it was coming from. Not very encouraging.

No on all tax proposals
The willingness of people to go to the polls and vote more taxes upon themselves even when given a direct choice has always baffled me.

I lost the best dog I ever had to cancer just over two years ago. I will always carry that grief with me, but over time you will learn to live with it even if you don't believe that now. I hope you can find some peace.
Best thing you can do is get another pup and start the cycle of life all over again. You may not believe that right now, but it's true.

re: Would you be for a new law that removes 1st amendment right to protest
Posted by MaximillianPayne on 5/28/26 at 12:33 pm to bbvdd
No. My biggest problem is that when a "protest" involves blocking public streets, destroying property, interfering with law enforcement activities, etc. it is no longer a protest. That is rioting, and there should be consequences for rioting. If someone wants to be paid to protest, that's their business, as long as it's actually a protest. Much of what you see today are just straight up riots which is not and should not be constitutionally protected.

re: What is the funniest text ever sent to you that was meant for someone else?
Posted by MaximillianPayne on 5/7/26 at 9:57 am to Perfect Circle
One of my kids mom sent me pics of her boobs in the bathtub at 2:00 a.m. followed by a message early the next morning of "please delete". Subsequent in person encounters between us at school events were a bit awkward but mostly for her.
re: U of Washington women's soccer team played a high school U-14 boys squad and lost.

As the father of two girls who played soccer growing up this is not shocking at all. There was one time my daughters played in a co-ed league in between seasons for school. They were about 12 and 14 at the time. They thankfully quit after a couple games because it was quite frankly dangerous for the girls. One of my daughters suffered an ankle injury on a very aggressive (but completely legal) play from a boy.

re: Soccer field’s bright lights and alleged code violations divide Ascension neighbors
Posted by MaximillianPayne on 4/10/26 at 7:05 pm to OldManRiver
Agree with OldManRiver. Add to that at the same time BRSC and Ascension Flight have been out to get Robichaux for many years because he takes all the best players and whips their asses year in and out. BRSC has also always been paranoid about losing their monopoly on soccer in Baton Rouge. They have contracts with BREC that allow them to basically control all the soccer fields in EBR. Someone like Robichaux just over the parish line with a growing club puckers their collective sphincter.
