I live about 10 minutes from the Las Vegas Ballpark. Have 4 buddies that are still back home in Louisiana coming down. Gonna pass a good time, us.

I haven't been paying attention to Mt Charleston's Lodge reconstruction, but that used to be one of my favorite escapes. Alcoholic hot chocolate was the best after hitting the mountain during winter.
If it's up and running by then, it's about a 45 minute drive up the mountain for you folks who want to be in the mountains. Red Rock Canyon has some great sights too, right down the road from the casino / ballpark

Gross, not my favorite, but I'll be damned if I miss it!

Recommendations from a local:
Red Rock Casino (great local Stations casino with nice sportsbook and many awesome restaurants and Oyster Bar that's legit) is just adjacent to the park as is City National Arena (Vegas Golden Knights practice facility that includes a nice bar and restaurant called McKenzie River with decent food) both within walking distance.
Would also highly recommend Frankie's Uptown Neighborhood Bar and Harlo (upscale steakhouse) both close walking distance in Downtown Summerlin. Highly recommend Fine Company for damn good lunch/brunch
La Neta Mexican restaurant has a cool bar, but food is very overpriced, however, decent right next door to Frankie's. There's also a Lazy Dog in that same center and a Dave and Busters all right there.
All of these above are literally right next to the ballpark
Pancho's is a bit further down but walkable and good authentic Mexican food at better pricing than La Neta.

Right around the corner from the house. Nice ballpark and the weather should be great that time of year. Psyched about this one.
I thought I heard they will play UNLV on the following Monday at Las Vegas Ballpark as well. Anyone else hear this?

I highly recommend Red Rock Resort right near Las Vegas ballpark. Good restaurant collection and nice amenities.

I'm freaking craving some boudin out here on the West Coast. I've been craving it for like 2 years but keep forgetting to search for a place that will ship it to me out here.
I've been living in Vegas since 2013. I typically fly it frozen back here with me when I'm in Louisiana, but Billy's will ship!
I literally just had a shipment of boudin balls, smoked boudin, tasso, and smoked sausage delivered last week

The boarding place and my vet have a pretty good racket going where I have to get whatever shots the boarding place demands.
You would be the person to want them to pay for treatment when your dog catches pneumonia there too if they didn’t vaccinate for respiratory diseases and blame them for not having good protocols lol

Like some places you have to have the flu shots.
Our boarding facility requires influenza vaccine and Bordetella and fecal checks for parasites. We have seen outbreaks all over the US for bad bad influenza outbreaks that have killed dogs so this is pretty common.

This! And take honest inventory of what else your dog might be exposed to before going to talk to your vet.
Truth is: some vets will peddle vaccines just to pump out inventory and you need to be wary of this. An honest vet will take the time to ask you questions and have a conversation. You encounter some who don’t want you to ask too many questions and just do what they recommend.
A good vet will explain WHY certain things are recommended and it should ALWAYS be based on exposure.
But I will emphasize that regardless of exposure those core vaccines especially as a young pup are a must regardless and that’s not debatable.

Also you are correct on the not recommended vaccines. I’m in Vegas so I do some rattlesnake vaccines but not many. It’s mostly for those who hike frequently and encounter rattlers which are more prevalent there.
Lyme is recommended if you’re an outdoors type who takes your dog camping etc. If you’re on flea and tick preventative then you’re better protected but not completely.
It’s all about your lifestyle and what you plan to do with the dog.
If he’s a homebody you can probably get away with forgoing Lyme.
