St. Augustine in late July

Posted by InaccuratelyLong on 5/10/22 at 8:26 am
Headed down to St. A in late July and would like to charter a boat for half a day with BIL's. Any charter recommendations or specific species to go after that time of year? We're saltwater noobs so any help is appreciated ...
Played about a month and a half ago. Had two rounds included with my package. Fun course that was in good shape, but the wind coming off the ocean can be brutal. Paired up with some guys from another resort that paid $250+ which seems a little steep, but I'm cheap ...

That's understandable. Just feel like we shouldn't have had to pay full price or they could've disclosed that up front. Either way, there are plenty of other nice courses to play when I visit the coast....

Fallen Oak

Went and played there this past Friday and man, what a letdown that place was. After paying $300+ I expected to be a little more wowed. Fairways were meh, but the greens were in good shape. Played the Preserve the following day and it was in MUCH better shape and a better experience overall for $10...

Got a group of guys heading down to play Fallen Oak and the Preserve the first weekend in March. From the other replies in this thread it sounds like we're in for a treat ...
Levee, let me turkey hunt your property this season and I will give you a complete deer numbers survey on 5/1 ...

Seems like a no brainer to me then. Speaking of Profectus, I have gift card that I'll be using for lessons with them this Spring. Any feedback or thoughts after you went to them for a lesson?...

Definitely need to move up to stiff flex in your irons. I'm guessing your driver shaft is stiff flex, so have you seen any loss in distance with that club? ...

Anyone ever done any fishing from the beach in St. Augustine? My first trip to that part of Florida and didn't know if it was worth trying ...

5-6 :dunno: ...
The two balls mentioned are my go to's. I found I get a little more distance with the TP5x (3-5 yards) but seems less spinny with irons/wedges. Can't go wrong with either IMO. Only regret is not buying more Srixon's during the bogo deal :banghead:...
