re: How is Venture Global to work for?

Posted by STATigerFan on 11/16/25 at 5:16 am to
In 2023 the Plaquemine site hired 7 people from my unit. 5 of them still work there. The two that left had issues with them making promises for money but not following through, not sure how true that is or the specifics. All of them hate the drive but not enough to leave. I haven’t heard any complaints about the company itself though.

spicy garlic sauce

It was supposed to be back last week but we are told we should get it again this week. We dont know until it is delivered

Thanks!
Went to the one on siegen a couple weeks ago and they didn’t have spicy garlic sauce. The menu had a little box with fine print in it saying they are making menu changes. Man, I hope they don’t stop serving that sauce. Only reason I really went there was for that sauce.

In my opinion, there’s no question about the first 2 shots being defensive while he was wrestling with someone who lied about a loaded weapon in the vehicle, it being within arms reach, him moving towards the loaded weapon, and then being drug by the car. Emptying the mag as the car drives away, will be what the public is going to question. It could be he was shooting at the tires trying to disable the car from fleeing, the perception of that would look a lot better than shooting at a man fleeing a traffic stop from a busted tail light, which is how some will spin it. I don’t know their procedures or what they’re taught when handling scenarios like this, the trooper could have handled it textbook.

Pretty much agree with everything you said. They will definitely try to spin it to excessive use of force. The trooper was cordial the whole time before the guy started fighting, the driver seemed like he was handling it well too at first. But once the fighting started all bets were off in my opinion. You don’t know why he wants to get away. I can’t say the officer was even thinking about that though. But when the officer saw the gun he tried to detain him and secure the gun. Guy knew he couldn’t have the gun and was going to jail if he got caught. He took the chance of carrying a gun in plain sight. He was either looking for trouble or trouble was looking for him.

As a Monday morning QB, the trooper probably could have laid off the trigger once he was no longer being drug by the car, and moved him further from the car before attempting to put him in cuffs.

Its hard to tell if he actually reached for the weapon as the narrator of the video said but I look at it like this, he was willing to lie about a weapon, have it in plain sight so he could grab it quickly, and fight with police officers to get away. At that point the police officer couldn’t let him leave the scene. No telling what his intentions were with the gun. He may drive off and go kill someone. Once the officer saw the gun with the situation as it unfolded, the guy left him no choice but to stop him some kind of way.
I have 40k miles on my 3.0 Duramax. Comparing it to the 5.3 I had before this truck its better in every way I can think of. My commute to and from work is about 32 miles. With the 5.3 I averaged about 18 mpg between going to work and then running around town when I was off. Similar driving in the 3.0 gets me 28 mpg. That’s hand calculated going by the whole tank. If I only drive to and from work I get over 30 mpg and only around the city I get 23 mpg. I usually get diesel at Walmart and we have a Walmart+ account so we get 10 cents off a gallon, it’s been around 2.95-3.25 per gallon since I’ve owned this truck. The diesel is usually like 50-60 cents more per gallon than gasoline. I get 680 miles to the tank in the 3.0 vs 400 miles to the tank in my 5.3, same size tank in both trucks. My oil changes cost the same as the 5.3 did. The diesel has a fuel filter that costs around $30 to change. And the DEF costs me about $20 every 5k miles. I have a 19’ ski boat that I pull to the lake on weekends and the occasional trip to Arkansas or Florida. It gets around 17 mpg towing but DEF consumption is significantly increased. Towing the same boat with my 5.3 I got around 12 mpg. The torque difference between the 5.3 and 3.0 is very noticeable when towing. The 3.0 moves the boat with way less effort, not that the 5.3 didn’t do well, the 3.0 is just better. I have not had any issues with the truck yet but I am concerned about the DEF system long term. Just because of the horror stories. I really like the truck though and I’d buy another tomorrow if something happened to this one.

I’m an operator. I know you didn’t ask but another poster did, my commute is about 35 minutes each way. Never hit any traffic unless there’s an accident or something.
One of the only reasons I shop at Trader Joe’s is for their Santa Maria (pretty sure that’s what it’s called) tri-tip. I cook it on my pellet grill on high heat with the grill grates to medium/medium rare and cube it up. Sprinkle a little extra taco style seasoning on it. Then eat it with a home made pico and cotija cheese. Absolutely delicious! That’s the way I do steak tacos but you could just change the cheese up. If you’re close to an Ideal Market they have some good stuff. I like to get the La Chona jalapeño quesadilla cheese to make them. I don’t care for Ideals pico, rather make my own.

I used Stale Crackers crawfish boil seasoning last time I boiled. It was spicy, more so than the Zats extra spicy to me. Not so spicy it couldn’t be eaten but definitely a level up from Zats. Good flavor too, one of my best boils of the season.

Ethanol-blended gasoline isn’t actually cheaper. It costs more to produce than pure gasoline. The reason it costs less at the pump is A) because of government subsidies for ethanol and B) because ethanol-free gas has become a niche product

That may be true, I don’t know what goes into producing gasoline with ethanol. But it still results in a significant increase in gasoline prices which would definitely be a negative against Trump or whoever signed that bill.

quote:

There’s also the fact that ethanol-free gas has higher energy content (resulting in higher fuel efficiency).

According to the google machine, there’s a 3% loss of economy with 10% ethanol in gasoline. Any loss of economy seems dumb when we are doing stupid stuff like auto stop/start to decrease emissions but the cost increase would be significantly higher than 3% if they stopped producing fuel the way they are right now.
quote:

If Trump wants a big win, he’d cut ethanol in gas with an EO.

This would not be a win, fuel prices would go up immediately. Have you seen the price of non ethanol fuel? The average person doesn’t care if there’s ethanol in the fuel, especially since it means cheaper fuel.
I had the same experience 2 years ago. I was ready to spend $10–$12k for a turn key system but when all 3 estimates I got came back in the 17-18k range I was surprised. None of my estimates were itemized and when I asked for a break down I could not get one from them. The generator would have to be about 15 feet from the breaker box and maybe 18’ from the gas meter. No digging, all ran in conduit along the bottom of the foundation. They told me that was some of the extra cost, because it was far away. I even showed one person that came out that I could get the generator and transfer switch myself for around $6k and asked what the extra cost was from. He would not answer.

re: Anyone have a Ryobi weed eater?

I have one and I don’t care for it at all. I haven’t had what you’re describing happen but I hate the way it’s built. The string is way too high in the head so I have to tilt it to get good cuts. It’s difficult to throttle it, seems like it’s all or nothing. I have the one that you can change attachments on, I have the edger for it and it is terrible too. Previously had EGO stuff and it was pretty good but the batteries always seemed to be shot right after the warranty was expired so, instead of buying new batteries, I switched to the 40v Ryobi stuff to give it a shot.

I got a quote 2 seasons ago to have my 19 ft bow rider detailed, buffed and waxed. It was not heavily oxidized, stays in my garage when not in use. It was $1800 for them to do it. I chose to grab some beers and do it myself.

Fill your pot to about half with water. Maybe the 4th or 5th hole in the basket. Then add one 4.5lb jar of seasoning. If you want them more on the salty side add more seasoning or some straight salt. You can put some liquid crab boil in there too, I usually put 8oz per sack. Water level vs amount of seasoning is what most people mess up when they boil and aren’t experienced. Like others have said, washing them well is really important too. Boil for 3 minutes ish from when it starts to bubble again, but a good rule of thumb is “boil until they float, soak until they sink”.
The war has progressed too far because of incompetence in office. He should have negotiated terms before Russia took all the territories they have taken. Without major US involvement he doesn’t have strength to negotiate anything now. He has to concede.

Don't take any offense to my post, but you are wrong here.

None taken.

I’m just speaking from about 20 years of experience lifting weights. My flat bench workout was 405 for 8 reps and incline was 365 for 8 reps just a couple years ago. I don’t go that heavy anymore. I have never had a shoulder injury. Never. It is true that you will have impingement if your elbows are flared. But it is also true that you are using too much of your front delts to push the weight, easiest way to tell is you will have tighter delts than chest after pressing. Also why the bar should not travel straight up and down. You are pressing the weight from your shoulders if your elbows are too wide. Lay on a bench and put the bar on your chest. Tell me where it starts when you flare your elbows vs having them at about 45 degrees out from your body. This is why he’s feeling it everywhere but the chest. He probably learned wrong from the beginning, his chest is weak so he uses too much shoulder to press, or maybe he already have an injury that doesn’t allow him to lift properly. He needs to have someone that can watch his form and knows what it should be to help him. That’s the easiest way to fix it. You can look at videos but it can be hard to judge your own form.

If you want to engage your chest more on a bench press then you would have to flair your elbows out. I wouldn't recommend this because it starts to put your shoulders in a compromised position.

Not exactly. You are putting your shoulders in a compromised position because you are using your shoulders to push when your elbows flare. The machines are able to give you a better mind muscle connection because you aren’t under a bar suspended by your arms fighting for your life. I’d suggest lightening the weight and doing more reps or do some exercises that make your bench press stronger. But first you need to make sure your form is correct. Don’t just guess. Ask someone that benches a lot in the gym and/or research videos online.
I’ve used the guy on Siegen 3 times. The first 2 times he did a great job. The last time he cracked the paint and I had to get it painted. I don’t think it was entirely his fault, it was a difficult dent. Problem is he didn’t tell me he cracked the paint and he made the dent look worse and even creased the metal inside the dent. So when I called another guy, Bayou Dent Repair, not realizing the paint was cracked and he was the one that told me it was cracked. Usually they won’t mess with the dent if the paint is damaged but he said he would try if I was ok with it. Bayou Dent Repair was able to get about 90% of the dent out and it looked much better. He said that if I would have called him first he thought he could have gotten it much better than the end result and didn’t even want to charge me to work on it in the end. I gave him some cash anyway. He came to my house and worked on it in my garage. He showed me little things in the dent where the last guy pushed it wrong. He really seemed like he knew what he was doing and never asked me who worked on it before him. I’d recommend them before any of the other dent repair guys I’ve dealt with.
Thanks, might have to give it a shot. I drive about 18000 miles a year. I don’t drive aggressively for the most part. I can see the grades on the onstar app for my truck. There are times where I accelerate hard or break hard like everyone else though so I didn’t want them to see that and then hit me with a higher rate.
