OKC will take a step back trust

I dont "trust" They are due for more internal growth and signed a guy to help fill the biggest need they had, which was an inside presence/size. They are better.

Wolves stagnant

Remaining "stagnant" when you were a top team in the conference isnt getting worse. They the same.

Nuggets lose KCP

I mean i guess, but not much. They are still easily a playoff team.

The west will still be PLENTY Tough to navigate through the year.

re: Dyson Daniels

Look, everyone has different opinions on Dyson. I think he was a really Good Defensive player but not great. But wasnt a playmaker, and still not good scoring the basketball. The awesome news that you have to remember if you are concerned with losing dyson because of the defense he brought, Is that Dejounte Murray is a former 2nd team all defense. Hes a 2way star. Id say hes lesser of a defender than Jrue, but more dangerous offensively. Murray MORE than makes up for the loss of Dyson.
Dont think Cj is on the move. I think he matters to much for the team as THE VETERAN LEADER. Hes also valuable beacause he does a lot more for us when asked to. He is meant to be a shooting guard though not a pg. And now with Murray, he can revert back to playing off ball a lot more. But still give you some playmaking. Hes also our best shooter. And we are definitely still in the mindset to win now, and trading him would net us much less in a return then he provides us being on the roster. Id be Shocked if we traded him.
Yea I think I’d go Jarvis, Odell, DJ Chark.
Guys like Michael Clayton and Josh reed deserve to be in there but I’m less familiar with them than the others. I’ve seen every snap those first 3 have played though.

I’d rather keep Jonas at 15mil and trade Nance at 10 mil. 1 is the only true center on the roster. The other has 5 players who can play his role. And 1 played almost all games last season

I totally agree. I like Nance and what he brings, but he’s one of the easier contracts we have to move. Then, if you add another lower end roster guy or two for salary fillers and throw in some firsts we should be able to get a valuable player in return while hopefully saving money at the same time. I’d love to trade nance and kira plus a first and couple seconds or something for a guy like PJ Washington or less to give up for maybe a Patrick Williams

We won you negative troll. We aren’t going to dominate every sec series. The sec is historically stacked this year there are going to be some ups and downs obviously

I think four years is a pretty fair sample size to project what we can expect for the rest of his career. I honestly feel like the latest injury is the most telling of the 4 years. If a simple hamstring injury sidelines him for three months, his ability to heal is just miserable. When do we start having a realistic conversation about with the team could look like with assets acquired from his trade rights? I just feel like everyone already knows in their gut that this guy is never going to be healthy enough to push this team to major success. But we sure as hell could a acquire a lot of assets if we admit the inevitable early on.

Zion is our best player. You have to wait still unfortunately. Look at Embiid. He took until year 3 to suit up. And only played 2/3 of the 3rd season. Look at him now! I really love our guys on this team, but I understand at this point questioning whether the current core could ever work. There are some obvious issues in general, but mainly do we trust Ingram‘s ion and an aging CJ to start all of a sudden being able to stay healthy all at once?
I think Zion, and Trey are the only untouchables right now. Jose because of his contract and his value shouldn’t be moved in any scenario either. I think Ingram is the best to trade as far as the return we’d receive. Zion would be undervalued a lot right now on trade market bc of the health concerns.
I like Jonas, but I think everyone would be less than surprised to see him shipped out this off-season. And CJ is good for the culture and still has something to offer while also not gonna demand near as much of a trade return
We all know this. If someone starts arguing that then we need a thread to shame them

re: Pelicans' Trade Targets (PTT)

Posted by HEAVYtiger23 on 2/27/23 at 8:57 am
I agree, great effort. But with the value you have us giving up in most of these trades, it’s too much. The only ones I think I’d be interested in based soley off of these scenarios and in order of favorite to least would be Mikal Bridges, Devin Vassel, Myles turner. While I don’t love giving up herb for Myles turner in that trade, we will have to pay herb soon anyway which will be hard as we all know with other pay raises coming due soon too. But I dint think you give up 2 firsts. Valuncunias is a trade asset absolutely going into next year bc of expiring contract and a player who can contribute. Herb a young defensive difference maker and an unprotected first for a player in Myles turner who is about to be payed probably more than he deserves, but would be valuable to us given his skill set

Who will be our Steve Kerr remains to be seen. However the good vibes and family bullshite has finally run its course and this is how far it can go. Time to actually become a winning championship basketball team.

That’s so stupid. We are all incredibly frustrated with how things have gone since Zion went down. First off, we just lost to the bucks who have an UNGUARDABLE SUPERSTAR while we were without Zion, CJ, Ingram, and Dyson. (Our top 3 players plus arguably our best perimeter defender in Dyson.) Nobody can replace that, Willie was beloved only a month or so ago. So don’t burn down the man’s house because of misfortune. Now if Zion comes back in a couple weeks and CJ and BI are hopefully healthy. I expect us to start climbing back out of this hole and separating ourselves as one of the wests biggest contenders again. If we don’t dramatically improve then I’d be disappointed with Willies ability to get the team back focused. Until then calm down

We’re losing to bad teams. Everyone was saying how deep this team was. We’re not deep.

I think we are deep. It just we had Zion out some and CJ, Heakthy BI, and Jonas were our scorers with the others being complimentary. Buuuut because of 2 of our top 3 players have been out our next 2 best offensive players have sorely needed one more guy that can create for him self and some for others.
Jordan Clarkson for a first and the salary going out needed to take in his.
I think that immediately makes the bench look more like we saw from early in the season. We really have been missing our paint points though. Zion and Jonas were feasting in the paint. You can’t replace that. It’s just been unfortunate overall

re: The bench tonight...

Posted by HEAVYtiger23 on 12/21/22 at 8:26 pm
I wouldn’t agree with that. They had a bad game. First thing is Trey comes off the bench for BI, 2nd Nance didn’t play and he’s a big time contributor off the bench, 3rd Jose isn’t playing healthy. We know he’s got hurt ribs. It was also just one of those nights where guys weren’t on. Naji has improved big time as a playmaker, is a good defender and a vocal leader at times, and can get his own shot pretty well. Billy just didn’t play well.
Don’t undersell our bench, we are just in a funk. We also easily could’ve won 3 out of the last 4, we just haven’t finished games in the final minutes recently.
Flock up! Its a long season

re: Cut the line on Boutte

Posted by HEAVYtiger23 on 9/5/22 at 12:05 pm
Yea I’m fine with him having a bad game. But it was his attitude. I’ll give him a pass on dropped td and dropped first down. But he blew up on sidelines and j. Daniels was Trying to console him but it was Boutte fault for not having his head turned around. That seemed like he’s not giving it his all or is out of sync bc he hasn’t been giving it his all in the offseason. Nabers I felt bad for bc you could tell how frustrated with HIMSELF he was. Not others. J. Jenkins and Thomas were our best wrs last night for sure.

Go for 2 down 16-24

I agree 100% we shouldve went for 2. Not because the Pat was blocked bc damn who would’ve thought 2 blocked kicks by 1 team in this game. But, we fought to get back in the game and did so with 0 seconds left on the clock. We had been good at short gains most of the game and they had been the better team for 3 and a half quarters. So where usually I would’ve never said go for two like some underdog team or a team does in a bowl game. But in this game I was screaming/pleading at the tv for us to go for 2 so we wouldn’t have to play overtime.
I got the entire D line. Armoni, Boutte or nabers. Also I’m expecting a lot out of Mike Jones jr

UCLA Ok. K state you can’t even look at as a real ooc loss. We had what, 2 starters playing in that game? Our 5th year senior wr playing qb. I understand we lost but you can’t say we been bad ooc recently ucla and k state. Just ucla lol
They looked fine. They rushed for over 400 and passed for over 200.
They struggled in the second quarter to score and Duquesne missed a fg. Travis was fine. Their oline looked solid run blocking for sure. But Duquesne couldn’t tackle for shite. Overall can’t really gain much from it bc it was a gimme game that Florida st did what they should’ve. Which they didn’t do last year with inferior teams fwiw
Lol. Yea if talent is counted in stars in recruiting. Emory is a stud but we wouldn’t know. Noah Cain is a versatile guy but not elite by any standard. Josh Williams is just a hard working dude who wants it and runs with heart. Goodwin excites me most, but he has yet to have more than like a dozen touches in a season lol. We have potential for sure and I think we should be fine. But yea not loaded
