American National had it in Texas for 7 years. Great agent him, mom, sister, we never met them, they were several hrs from where we lived but when we had an issue it was resolved. Moved back to La 8 years ago stayed with A.N. Had to get new agent and she’s good. I check around ever few years so far no one can touch policy quote. Have home and auto, couple of life policies.

re: Thinking about a prefab metal shed with slab...what do I need to know?

Permits/zoning
Nix buildings in Daingerfield Texas was the cheapest I found. They don’t do dirt work or concrete, just the building and installation. I ended up finding a 30 x 50 shop about 15 minutes from my house. It has another slab on it that I probably will get Nix to put up a building once I get the first one full. Good luck

He heard we had some scholarships left, figured he would walk on. Stood there with hands on hips thinking which position should I take. Unfortunately the position he took was horizontal. But it did take 4-5 to bring him down.

Depending on length and width of ditch, you might consider laying grating across the ditch. I notice they have some used pieces at Henderson Auctions in Livingston sometimes.

My granddaughter noticed a couple on Easter here in Avoyelles parish. They were hitting the tops of Aloe Vera plants.

1) Have the locks rekeyed, had 3 doors 6 locks rekeyed to same key less than 100.00 and he was in and out less than an hr.
2)Take pictures of everything esp. appliances showing model and serial numbers. Also if house burns down easier to prove contents. Keep this handy.
3) If possible know what your paint colors are.
4) Any touch ups should be done prior to moving in, so much easier.
5) If your house is in a neighborhood, make a point to introduce yourself. They may have valuable information on who to call for what.
6) Keep track of improvements, you may can write them off.
7) Congratulations and good luck.

re: Buc-ee's was a disappointment
Posted by nukedtbone on 5/12/21 at 6:44 pm
Owner of Buc-ee’s has people that go from store to store checking out the place, if bathrooms are nasty everyone gets fired, or so said one of his store managers. I have stopped at Buc-ee’s a lot only real complaint is that it’s always crowded. If I remember correctly they started in Lake Jackson Tx.

My uncle was a career office seeker, ended up getting more votes after he changed his name to NOTA. None of the above, we heard he got some money from a movie that used the idea (name). Not sure he would have been a great 3 W politician, Whiskey yes, Women absolutely, Want a bribe not so much.

re: Would you go to the "Extreme" to defend your home?
Posted by nukedtbone on 4/13/21 at 5:28 pm
Yes, if your in my house uninvited I have a contract that says I will protect my wife, I can’t do that if I’m dead. I will ask whose there, maybe. I’m not as good a shot as I used to be, I can’t put 3 rounds between your eyes anymore, but I can put 1 where your heart is and 2 where it used to be.

Worked at nuke plant 28 years, was always in top 3 in overtime
Lived under our means
Have a wife that saves money instead of recycling it.
Mowed yards on the side when I was on shift. At the end of 1 rotation had 7 days off
Paid for both my kids college out of pocket
Also sold a few cars a year
Last 2 years at work I went to training as instructor for our millwright apprenticeship, but I need both my knees and left hip replaced so they let me go out on medical retirement.
Resold my house to the builder and moved back to La from Tx
Company insurance is free to retirees
I don’t have expensive hobbies golf a few times a year
Above average 401 return

Posted by nukedtbone on 3/24/21 at 7:21 pm
I’m not sure, if I do it’s not a very good one, hasn’t assaulted anyone that I know of. I think it was raised in a 2 gun semi automatic house hold. Hugs not drugs. slugs for thugs.
Winchester model 61

As the oldest grandson I got my paw paws rifle over 30 years ago, I have never used it. I’m about ready to give it to my son who has the oldest grandson so it can be his in a few years. Anybody have one, is it a good gun to keep in the family? It shoots the 22 mag so it’s around 60 years old.
