Favorite LOTR Character

Posted by MeauxJeaux999 on 4/30/25 at 12:18 pm
I'm sure this has been discussed but I finally convinced my wife to watch Lord of the Rings. After 11 years she finally agrees. We finished Fellowship last night and she asked me who my favorite character was in the trilogy and I really couldn't decide.

Legolas was my favorite as a kid just because he so OP, Aragorn is hard to argue with, the older I get the more I like Gandalf, Samwise has a strong argument as well, Theoden has started growing on me more and more every time I watch. Overcomes all of his flaws, drops the most fire pregame speech in history and dies a heroic death.

I really dont know who my favorite character is. Maybe thats one of the reasons its such an incredible story. Every character is awesome
Finished with 164. For some reason after watching the announcements and those guys breaking sub 10:00 scores, I thought there was no way I would be capped lol. Then after watching a few of the better athletes in a gym full of "normal" guys flirting with the cap, I decided maybe this would be harder than I expected
Disappointed in my score. 158 gonna retest this afternoon if I can find time. Had a plan but came out way too hot and the wheels came off quick. didn't respect those thrusters like I should have and only got to the rig was 30 seconds left to do muscle ups lol.
Buddy sent me his score card on my way home from from work yesterday evening and he had beat me by 1 rep so I obviously had to retest. ended up with 19 more reps for 187. Glad I done it again.
168 for me. Im in the same boat as you regarding being dog tired. My youngest never sleeps so I was up all night Wednesday and Thursday running on about 3-4 hours of sleep. I am confident I could make it somewhere in the round of 24s but Im not willing to do that workout again lol. Thats a "How deep are you willing to dive into the pain cave" type workout.

Good job everybody!
Would not be surprised if this was the last CF Games
Allegedly Lazar Dukic went missing during the swim event. Livestream pulled, day 1 canceled. Things are not looking good.

What a horrible start to the games. So sad.

Finished in 52:29 RX

All day I had planned on doing 20 rounds of Cindy, even during the first mile run. As soon as I got under the rig I just decided to go 33 round of 3-6-9 and 1 round of 1-2-3. Im glad I did that bc my arms never blew up and I PR'd by 10 minutes plus . Not near as sore as I thought I would be.

Happy late Memorial Day!

I have tried varying my arm placement to see what works best. I feel like the problem is mainly just the volume of that workout plus the 20lb vest.

Has anyone tried splitting them 5 pullups/5 pushups/15 squats/5 pushups? I watched a video saying that might help with arm fatigue from pushups

Murph

Finished up final day of Murph prep this morning with 3/4 mile run, 80 pullups, 160 pushups, 240 squats, and 3/4 mile run.

How are you guys splitting up the meat of the workout? Those pushups absolutely blow my arms and shoulders up to the point that I am cramping up in both shoulders during that final run.

I wanted to split them into 10 rounds of 10/20/30 this year because 10 rounds is a lot less daunting in my mind than 20 rounds of 5/10/15 but 10 sets of 20 pushups might be a dumb idea for me.

Pullups and squats are fine but those stinkin push ups are rough

Well, Friday I decided on doing scaled, 830 reps. Came out too hot on rower and blew up in the 7th round.

Tried RX this morning just to see what happened and finished with 557 reps. No idea where those DUs came from but I am a happy dude!

Hoping for something with a heavyish barbell as long as it isn't thrusters.
Would like to see HSPUs, maybe some rowing, pullups or t2b, nothing on that devil bike and no dubs lol

Whatever gobbling weather is. I don't think turkeys even know what they like.

My goal was to just not get capped. Finished 12:54 and made myself a promise to never do that workout again lol.

What are the odds of seeing crossovers instead of dubs this year?
Dock Hand during first couple of college years. Drunk tippers were awesome, drunk girls inviting you on the houseboats they were renting after work were awesome, got paid to catch bluegill for a fish fry on multiple occasions, outside all day.

Never realized how good I had it at the time.

IF Questions

Posted by MeauxJeaux999 on 1/29/24 at 1:08 pm
My daily routine consists of this:
Generally wake up around 4:30-4:45. Out the door around 5:30. I go to local Crossfit gym at 6:00am, head to work around 7-7:30 until 4:30ish.

I really like the benefits of fasting, on weekends I usually do a 24 or occasionally a 48 if I don't have much going on.
Through the week I do intermittent fasting with an eating window of 11:00am - 7:00pm.

I have read a lot of differing opinions on consuming protein immediately after workouts vs waiting till later in the day to avoid breaking my fast. Working out in the afternoon isn't sustainable for me so the option of changing my routine isn't really on the table.

Question 1: Should I do away with IF through the week to consume protein right after I work out even if I am hitting my macros most days?

Question 2: I like pre-workout. Some guys at the gym use Pre-Kaged Sport. I have tried it before and liked it. Gets the blood going in the morning without making your heart rate through the roof during HIIT. If I started taking it daily, would the pre-workout break my fast? Nutritional label states it is only 10 calories

I do like coffee as well, but I am notorious for sipping on the same 20oz cup of coffee all day long. I do not like chugging coffee lol

It is very easy for me to gain weight and muscle mass. I usually bounce around 215-225lbs. The reason I am wanting to shed some of the excess fat is to help with the gymnastic movements and just my tank in general.

Thanks in advance

When I was a kid I remember going into JC Penny with my mom and when we come back out, someone had stole 3 of the fender flares off of her 4Runner in the parking lot in broad daylight lol
Medeiros looked a little better during the Alpaca Redux, although he still didn't look himself. Still a few more heats to go so we will see where he ends up. Would be shocking to see him get cut.

On a side note I ran my first 5k this morning. Ive never been a runner and never ran more than a mile at a time, I lean more towards the heavier WODs.

My time was horrible but I dont even care because I never stopped or walked the whole time.
I seen where he had apparently went down twice in the bike test yesterday. You could see where his chest was marked up pretty good on the inverted medley but he ended up killing it in that event.

Khrennikov looks unstoppable so far.
