I had to take one for my most recent job which is just an office job. I smoke weed pretty regularly for most of my adult life but stop if I am job searching on the chance they might require one. I think it is stupid and eventually when I run my own business one day I won’t do it.

I understand why it is necessary if you work with things like heavy machinery, engineering or medicine where you need to be sharp all of the time because people’s lives are at stake. But I think it’s dumb that I have to pee in a cpu to prove I can sit at my desk all day and work on a computer.

Other posters have stated this but I am going to reiterate how important this is but you need to document every interaction you have with the owner about this and have picture showing the dogs repeatedly damaging the fence separating y’all. You have said that the city of Austin does not look kindly on anyone who kills animals so you need to be prepared for a worst case scenario both for the possibility you have to terminate those dogs and the possibility the city launches an investigation into your use of force on them.

You need to contact your local authorities about how best to document your repeated attempts to prevent these dogs fo m coming into your yard, possibly have a cop come and see the damage firsthand. Do everything in your power to make sure the law is on your side should you have to shoot these beasts.

I drove an old farm truck when I was in high school to prove to my folks that I could take care of something that important. When I graduated my dad got me a used car but put it in my name then payed it off so I could have a good start to my credit score.

I intend on doing this exact same scenario with my kids one day, give them an older car and make sure they can handle the responsibility then purchase them a better one upon graduation from High School and put it in their name.

I didnt realize what it meant to have a good start on credit until after I graduated college and my apartment complex needed to check my credit to approve me. Very thankful for that lesson
