re: Career change to IT

Well thats the plan but an IT job (no conflict of interest with and advisory firm) would provide benefits and a base salary while I get the firm up and running. I could look at buying a book from a retiree and I'm pretty confident about keeping it together. Still will need to feed and keep healthy a family of 4 while I get that up and running.

Not necessarily product specific just high numbers/quotas for 1st time advisor. The guys who have made it through said program abandoned the fiduciary mindset and acted selfishly

Good to know. So I likely need to start with a help desk gig regardless?

Career change to IT

Posted by Tig3rman on 2/4/26 at 1:22 pm
I'm currently 33 and a financial advisor. Not enjoying the sales pressure from current firm and could be looking for a new job in the next 6 months. Im thinking about switching over to IT as a systems analyst of some sort around that same 6 month mark. I'm fairly computer savvy and I've researched some online courses for comptia network plus. Just wondering if anyone has made a switch like this and if so what advice do you have? One reason I want to go into IT is so that I can start my own advisory firm on the side to handle money of friends and family while growing organically. The full time job would provide benefits I need for my growing family.

TIA!
If you're willing to shoot it you should eat it out of respect for the animal! Otherwise just stick to targets.
What the other guys said and make sure you learn some good gun safety and pass it on to your kid. LDWF hunters safety course is good foundation and required for your license. The kid wont need it yet.

Right and I do not believe we have hit peak rut yet.

And you think the rut has passed already?

I put a camera on a group of three oaks and deer are still coming eat on the acorns. No corn put here. I passed on a couple smaller bucks and a spike that in hindsight I should have shot. I think rut might be starting with what I saw on camera recently.

Im not far from hwy 421. We've been seeing a few moving just not getting great opportunities. More seen in the woods by acorn trees and thick stuff.
The average investor is not going to beat American Funds or target date funds. They are too emotional like you said. Riding a tech wave with +70% exposure that could reverse fast (regardless of solid sector fundamentals) because same investor psychology drives market prices.

I like the flexibility of rolling over into the new plan. Assuming you have access to decent funds in said new plan. Rule of 55, later RMDs, plan loans in a crunch.
I dont get nervous duck hunting since it's fast paced and requires quick reaction. Big game i get nervous shooting just about anything since I have so much more time to sit and think about shooting the animal. Started bow hunting a couple years ago and the rush is awesome.

How are you still shitting on Philly lol
Are you hearing about someone saying they'd be AD if we got a particular coach and said coach coming over if we got that same person as AD?

He would lead LSU on all the way until the end just so that it would mess up recruiting etc.

Seems like more than him just falling out and drowning.

re: Football is mental

Joe Burrow's mentality was contagious to the team. Who is that leader now? Nuss is 18 but I think Weeks 40 has the Burrow type mental strength. The mental part for us is game 1 losses over the past few years.
