Is hatcher gone?

Yep. Hatcher, McCray (I know for a while, but #44 is stained in the brain as teh poster child for this topic for such contributions to this mysterious "why is he on the field in that position?" no matter what he ever does at the next level - he was misused at LSU), Jefferson (in case you have not heard), Richard Murphy,T-Bob, etc...all gone

Who's it gonna be in 2012?

Will this year be that we don't have that one player that every one seems to pick on?

I think it might be that year, but a LB seems to be the position that would most likely be that player. But, I think this will turn out to be one of the best LB crews LSU has had, as there is more experience and talent than may be thought.

I think our roster is so stacked across the board, and there does not seem to be that coaches favorite player that makes us all scratch our collective heads.

This is going to be a special team.
A&M. Much more "rival potential". Arkansas it too far away. Due to the Oil industry and agricultural overlap, there are a lot more inter-relations between A&M grads and LSU grads, and it just seems more like a rivalry. After all the years of the Boot and all, the game took on no more significance than it would have otherwise, and the significance was totally based on Arky being the spoiler to LSU.

50-50 shot to make Omaha?

I had a conversation this morning with an Auburn dude, and he thought LSU was a long shot to make it to Omaha. I know, it is an Auburn grad....

Anyhoo, I told him we had about a 60% (just a random number indicating greater than 50-50) to make it based on #7 seeding, home field, experience, pitching, etc...

What is you all's guess. What liklihood would you put on it?
Jarvis Landry and ODB and Mett - I can't wait to see what these guys are going to do.

But as the conference grows, it means that we will play the other SEC-E teams less and less often.

True. But, we have several rivalries with conference teams EACH year

Plus, we get to play the other East teams at some point, and if they are worth a shite, we could play them in ATL also.
We can only hope such a statement is one of those DaVinci levels of genius we can not comprehend. Might as well make that assumption, because otherwise it is too depressing to hear the coach of your beloved team make sure comments.
No use bitching about this one, as it is completely out of our hands.

As a season ticket holder, I am VERY pleased to have the Florida game on the schedule at home every other year. This means we have either Florida or Bama at home each and every year. With the advent of the TAF/Tradition fees and the 8-home game reality (most years), season ticket holders deserve to get as many top-tier games as possible. It also enhances the road schedule on the travel-to-Gainseville years.

Sure, it would be IDEALISTIC to get to play all teams in the conference as many years as possible, but face it, larger conferences do not afford such. Heck, LSU NEVER played Bo Jackson, Hershel Walker or Peyton Manning, and that was when we had a different rotation and less conference teams. There is no idealism here, so we get what we get and should not throw a fit. Might as well look at the positive side on this one, unless the unlikely happens. Up to and until that happens, some of us are happy with the Florida game as our east game, and some are not. Sounds like life to me....

Deal with it.

I'm completely for a 100% cross division rotation, no permanent opponents. But, until then KEEP FLORIDA AS OUR PERMANENT. I don't want Vandy or Kentucky. Let Ole Piss and State have them.

Exactly. With expanding conference size, keep the best opponents and let it be. I would hurl if we had Kent or Vandy as our permanent east team. Might as well play ULL for "game value".
'82 Florida State fog/oranges game. Just amazing. (choose over '03 UGA, '07 FLA and '03 OU BCSNCG)
Great to see......PLUS, Now I can forgive him for dropping that gimme INT against Florida in 2003 which would have put LSU up 14-0...It was so in the bread basket with 25 yards in front of him that he just plain dropped it. I will always insist LSU would not have had to split the championship with USC had he not dropped that ball. I know, I know, this was not a guaranteed thing, but in my opinion, it would have changed the remainder of the game in the Tigers favor.
Based on consistency and excellency in performance, here is how I would rate the 2011 versus 2012 seasons:

Special Teams:
2011 A+
2012 A
Defense:
2011 A
2012 A-
Offense:
2011 C+ (Many of the points scored were special teams or defensive oriented or at least facilitated)
2012 A-
Difficulty of Schedule: (easier gets high grade)
2011: D- (9 games versus ranked teams)
2012: B- (No Oregon, WVU, etc..but it is still the SEC)

Bottom Line:
2012 should be a tangibly better team across the board, counting each units support of the other for down-and-distance, field position, etc... As such, 2012 will be a far more complete team, and I think if Mett turns out to be reasonably good, this could be the best team ever at LSU. I am counting on ODBJr and Jarvis Landry to be as good as I think they are for this prognostication, and for Shep to be at least ok.

Last time I checked AJ Mcarron is still their quarterback and he is nothing more than and average QB

Dude played lights out in BCSNCG, and I think set the tone for their domination of us.
Who the hell is Ralston Turner? I've never seen him on the offensive line depth charts! And I thought I knew all the recruits and players names. Pheewwww. It's a basketball guard.

I guess I am just so focused on football. Is it Sept yet?
We will go 14-0 and win it all in the 2012 season. All that crap is transient, based on the excessive reporting of how young LSU's team is and a bit of a down year.
I'm rooting for him. Might as well.
as Corso would say, forget about it....we are too far back...or are we?

scroll down to November 3rd....and relax....it was part of the contract for agreeing to allow Bama to host LSU at night in 2011.
