I had a late (80’s I believe the serial told me) model Ruger Blackhawk 6 shot. In 9.5/10 condition, seriously could’ve passed off as new nearly. But I never had much use for it. My eventual goal was to open site shoot a deer. I tried a few hunts but never saw one with the pistol on me. My dad has a .44 blackhawk with Shimanohol (I believe grips) that he and I like better than the wood, so I can still try for my open sight deer.
Well, I traded the pistol and $400+tax bc new for a brand new Ruger SR1911. For a polished aluminum with Walnut grips. Beautiful gun with good overall reviews. I feel I got a better gun for my needs, considering I let the blackhawk sit under the bed for protection beside my XDM. I’ve also been craving a 1911. I wanted “the gun” so I’m happy with my purchase.
Pulled over to write this as I drive to shoot and want to head the OB’s opinion. How’d I do, what’d I get?
I was looking at a RI double stack fwi online but never saw one irl.

Honestly I don’t understand how OM could do anything to KA over this. It wasn’t posted on their fraternity website, they aren’t wearing fraternity labeled shirts, it was in no way promoted or affiliated with KA.
The dumbasses just so happened to be in KA. If having 3 dumbasses do dumbass shite, OFF campus, is enough to punish a chapter, there wouldn’t even be a fraternity on the planet. I guess thats the goal of the left now, though.

I acquired a almost brand new one (9/10 cosmetics only flaw is a tiny bit of leather scuff on the bottom from sitting it down) and have no use for it. Found one exactly like it on eBay for almost $600 with a bid but only one. So seems pretty niche market. Also couldn’t find anymore on eBay or anywhere. It’s beautiful suede with a brown leather bottom and leather straps. Really cool, just don’t carry my laptop much since college.
