How do you know it was a 4.68? Not seeing where he even ran a 40 this weekend

There were a lot of factors.

Grade risks were a thing but it was overblown, he wasn't going to have that many problems qualifying as he only needed 1 extra class going into his senior season to qualify.

Most of the problems came from his size, he was maybe 180 pounds wet, but right around the spring to the summero of his senior year, he gained about an additional 10 pounds and packed on some healthy weight to his frame.
It really helped him going into his freshman year at LSU.

Another thing is that a lot of schools didn't offer him because everyone knew he was an LSU lock. Coach O was giving him a scholarship no matter what, it would have taken something drastic for him not to end up at LSU.

Despite the late drama of him being added to the class, he was going to be on campus one way or another. Even if it might have been a semester or 2 later.

I know some of the local media guys took that into account when they ranked him, but his senior film did turn some heads. It was impressive and one of the big reasons why he was even given 3 stars by 247. Sonny and Shea at 247 in particular took notice of him and vouched for at least a ranking.

Though obviously nobody predicted him to be where he is at today.

Most of Gilberts film has him as a wideout so the jury is still out on that.
A lot of scouts pretty much just assume that Gilbert will not have a hard time at that aspect though due to his athleticism.

He looked good to go at practice, as well as Clyde and Marshall.

Kid is a stud so it sucks, but I always thought clemson was a huge school for Greene. Going to be interesting what direction they go to to replace him. Need another true safety in the class

If was up to any LSU fan, any coach would be fired unless they won national championships every other year.
