Just get Kelvin Sheppard if our choices include Pete Golding. I’m confident the program would regain its identity as a hard nosed physical team that plays defense and runs the ball.

Also Oregon has never won anything so they don’t have that high of fan expectations. Win 10 games a year in a top heavy big 10 and you’re golden. He’s getting paid a king’s ransom and will never have to worry about being fired.
Diaz would be a total disaster. Duke has gotten way worse since Elko left.
I mean can we all admit this is kind of getting ridiculous that we can’t handle all of our business behind the scenes without it spilling into the media?. I’m embarrassed as an LSU fan. I have no idea if this deters all coaches but I’m sure some coaches will be turned off by this. If we have cause, we need to declare it or pay the man his money as we are contractually obligated to.
Year 2 is when I start judging. Look at what Cignetti and Elko did. Dillingham in year 2 got Arizona state to the playoffs. By year 3 if it’s not showing signs of working I doubt it ever will.
I mean being terrible at your job has never been grounds for cause. If you sign someone to a guaranteed contract and they’re awful at the job, then that’s your mistake for hiring them and you have to own the consequences.
Well now they know if they get fired their buyout will have to be litigated for. How enticing.
I think both LSU and Florida should unload the war chest to land Kiffin. He’s clearly open to moving to a bigger job.
Seems like we may have to take a swing with one of these G5 guys. Morris or Golesh would intrigue me. I think you have to have a guy who can run one side of the ball. I’d prefer offense.
I heard some scuttle about this too. If we don’t gain traction with a big fish, this guy would be a good catch in my opinion. A true offensive wizard and qb whisperer. Good chance he would keep Baker too.

Kliff has no ties to LSU and would be a weird fit. Chip Kelly similar. Doug Pederson and Todd Monken only two that would be plausible because they both have Louisiana ties and would likely jump at the job if offered.

Todd Monken is another. Former college HC and now Ravens OC who supposedly wants out the NFL.
Scott is old friends with Miss Terry. Fly her into Baton Rouge and ask her what it would take to get the deal done. Get a basic terms of agreement drawn up before she leaves. Let her take it home to Nick and see what he says. All he can say is no. But I definitely think Scott could get Miss Terry on board.
He's a little dorky but Les Miles was strange too.

They went to Columbia when we played South Carolina in September. Would be cool to get them on our campus again.

Chances to Host Game Day?

We haven’t hosted since Florida 2019 based off my research this morning. Do you think we have a shot when Alabama comes to town?
I think our offense is finally gonna hit its groove but we will be playing in a super hostile environment
Im high on all those guys too and I think one can emerge and be good but we can’t go into 2025 without one known stud. Bring in a one year rental stud while those other guys emerge. Especially if Nuss comes back, we should be able to lure a top dude in the portal.

One caveat is if a young guy emerges between now and season’s end. Even if it’s Green at hybrid receiver. Need one more proven guy going into next season.
It would be a miracle if we beat A&M on the road at night. Hope for a early kick there.
We’d have theoretically Hilton (?), Thomas, Anderson, Parker as projected starters but that’s not really good enough in my opinion.
