Dallas/Fort Worth Thanksgiving.
Posted by bagboy333 on 10/21/25 at 10:17 pm
Staying in Grapevine.
Need ideas for Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Wife. 10 yr boy. 6 yr girl and me.
Thinking Fort Worth Stockyards in morning. JFK tour in the afternoon.
Any ideas of what else to do? Open to anything. Don't love my itinerary. Not married to stockyards or JFK.

Boat weight question.
Posted by bagboy333 on 10/21/25 at 9:32 pm
I drive a 2022 gmc canyon. 3.6 LT engine. Max tow 7000lbs. Camper top makes truck a slight heavier.
How big of a boat can I pull out of the water comfortably?
Looking for a used boat but not interested in upgrading truck. Looking for a boat that can get around Vermilion Bay, Big Lake and Sam Rayburn.
I'm guessing my truck can pull between 4000 lbs and 5000 lbs out of the water comfortably...but how does that weight convert into length?
Is there a conversion chart?
Thanks in advance.

This is exactly what I'm looking for.
The LSU radio game announcers, not the local Clemson game announcers, is typically broadcast on a local radio station In the stadium for LSU fans when on the road.

re: My little cousin Greg Brooks road to recovery

My brother died from this cancer. My first gut reaction was that Brooks looked good. Strahan's daughter is the exception.
I know that's shocking to read...but this is a brain tumor that attaches itself to the brain stem. Removing that tumor is as life threatening as it gets.
Soon after the surgery, some asked if Brooks would ever play again. I knew better. Happy to see he has some motor skills.
This is what this disease looks like. Crippling to the patient but also the family that will care for him for the rest of his life.
He will never be normal again. His quality of life will depend on his support system. It looks like he has that from afar.
I wish him and his family the best.

re: The Top 10/Bottom 10 Movies to ever win Best Picture at the Oscars...

I've watched every Best Picture winner. "All About Eve" belongs on the worst list...not best.
Films on the worst list are all fine movies. Just likely not the best movie that year.
"Shakespeare in Love" is a fine movie...but not better than "Saving Private Ryan"

I thought the Sophie's Choice plot twist was going to be which of her lovers she going to choose.
Fells Point is the answer. Lived there for 4 years. You can take the water taxi to the game. Baltimore is much like NOLA. You can be in a great neighborhood...but a 3rd world country is just three blocks away.

Considering going to the LSU vs Oklahoma game next year in Norman, OK. Traveling from Lafayette. Me, wife, 10 yr old boy, 6 yr old girl.
Would you spend 3 days (which includes Thanksgiving) in Broken Bow, Dallas/Fort Worth or Oklahoma City?
Is the clear answer Broken Bow? Convince me otherwise.

What is everyone cooking at their tailgate for Saturday? I'm trying to create my menu. Searching for ideas.
Downtown to stadium?
Posted by bagboy333 on 9/12/24 at 12:05 pm
How are LSU fans getting from downtown Columbia to the stadium and back to hotels after?
It's 2.5 miles from downtown to stadium. Getting an Uber to the stadium or close to it won't be a problem...but getting back to the hotel will be tough.
Anyone have any experience with this?

Mendoza, Argentina

Anyone ever been to Mendoza Argentina for the harvest festival in Feb-March?
If so, where did you stay?
How was it?
What else did you do while there?
I was invited on this trip to a region of the world I know nothing about. Any info is helpful.

MSY has a direct flight to Heathrow. Wife and I flew direct to London...then the train to Paris for the games.
