re: Blue Gabe on YT

Me and my little girl will usually watch a few minutes right before I put her to bed. Good wholesome entertainment. He and Robert (DMFD) both seem to be good guys. And yeah, Gabe definitely has a “type” when it comes to women.
ETA: I do prefer BlueGabe’s videos where he goes to his camp in south GA because that’s the type of stuff I grew up doing in SW MS.

I can believe it because it sounds exactly like something my FiL would do. He never cooks.
We are here at his house for Christmas and had our big meal with my wife’s side of the family yesterday at her grandmother’s house. I got up this morning and was gonna make some turkey gravy to eat over toast after everyone was done with presents. Not a bit of flour in the entire house.

Our oldest dog (beagle/Jack Russell mix) did this as a young dog. We switched her to grain free food and she stopped. Unfortunately, that’s all of my experience with it
Poboy lunch in Lafayette
Posted by Dave_O on 12/18/24 at 10:39 am
My parents mentioned going down to Baton Rouge to visit my aunt and uncle the Friday after Christmas. My dad mentioned going to Lafayette/Scott Saturday morning to pick up some boudin before they come back. They both enjoy poboys and I was looking for a couple of recs to grab one for a Saturday lunch. I know of Olde Tyme, but that’s about it. You guys haven’t let me down yet. Thanks in advance.
re: The longest and most random conversation you every had with a complete stranger?
Posted by Dave_O on 12/6/24 at 5:37 pm
We went to New Orleans for a wedding and my wife got food poisoning on the way down so she stayed at the hotel and I walked down to Fat Harry’s to watch college football for a few hours before the wedding. I sat down at the bar by a random guy and his wife. We struck up a conversation and sat there for probably 3 hours talking about whatever, drinking a few beers, and watching football.

Was looking at their site at their Black Friday “deals” today. Specifically the compact daggers. Pretty good pistol for $330ish??
re: Anybody here ever been shot?

Worked with a guy 12-15 years ago who was shot in the shoulder in Desert Storm. He said it was the worst pain he had ever felt and felt like his shoulder was on fire.
re: Do you live close to your in laws and cut their grass and cook meals for them?
Posted by Dave_O on 10/13/24 at 5:14 pm
My in-laws live about 200 miles away, but my parents live about 6 miles down the road. My dad is super picky about his yard, so he takes care of that. As far as cooking goes, we usually eat at least one meal a week together. I’ll cook for all of us, my dad will cook for all of us, or we will go out to eat. Comes out pretty close to even, I’d say.

This is a good point. I already drank a pretty good bit, but when I started working as a line cook, it got worse. Drugs were never my thing, but there was plenty of coke and snorting pills going on.

I see you’re an Ole Miss guy. Any chance you’re in the Jackson Metro area?
Eta: Never mind. Just let me set that other email address up and I’ll get with you tomorrow.

No. Let me set up another email account and I’ll get back to you tomorrow if that’s ok.

Yeah I’d give you $30 for one of the shells if that sounds reasonable to you. But my email address has my whole name in it, so I may need to set up a “burner” email to post here

That’s cool as hell. Teddy Ballgame is probably my favorite athlete of all time. Any chance you’d be willing to part with one for a reasonable price?

My best friends dad graduated with a biochem degree from state. I guess he is about 70. From reading, I think you may be a bit older than him.

Yeah. If you go anywhere during the daytime, typically Jackson just isn’t THAT dangerous. Be aware of your surrounding and don’t do anything stupid and you’ll be fine.

Tuna salad.
I’m 38 years old and I haven’t eaten it one time since I moved out of my parents house 20-21 years ago. My mom fixed it for us, seemed like weekly. It was fine, it fed all of us in a pinch, but I haven’t missed it. ????
