The tryout period for U14 and above is June 4-14 and that is set by LSA. There shouldn't have been any tryouts in May for those ages. OP needs to contact other clubs ASAP because the dead period starts on the 15th.

The only satellite company with Cox Sports New Orleans is DISH. That's the station that has the football rebroadcast and a bunch of baseball and basketball games, plus the Hornets. Go to their website and put in your soon to be zip code to see if you can get it.

I f'ing hate the NCAA. They are unfair, unjust and unaccountable.
We self-discovered, self-investigated and self-reported the textbook incident to the NCAA and what did we get in return, more probation, vacated wins and being labeled "serial repeat violators".
Screw the NCAA.
Let me get this straight, you commit more violations while still on probation from the last set of violations, and you're pissed b/c you got called a repeat violator?? :banghead: You should be  before the NCAA for just giving you more probation instead of yanking scholarships.

The gold is traditional. That's what we used to have. I would like to see what gold would look like in place of yellow in our current uniform. That would be a cool alternate uni.
That would depend on your definition of traditional. LSU hasn't worn old gold since 1955. This new helmet actually looks more like a blend of the two colors to me...it looks more yellow than the old gold to me.

At the end of the day it is football. We are "wussifying" the world with all of this video review after the fact of everything, from traffic cameras to football calls. Does anybody remember Orwell's "1984." Big Brother.....
Most can agree, we would love to see "0" injuries, but it is certainly part of the game.
He could have hit him just as hard by staying on his feet, getting his head to the side and planting his shoulder pads into his torso. Hell, he might have even broke some ribs if he did it right. I don't care what part of the body you lead with, forearms, helmet, shoulder pads, whatever, you should not be allowed to launch yourself at a players head. Sure, football is a violent sport, but protecting players from the risk of permanent injury from a broken neck or severe concussion due to someone purposefully going after their head is not "wussifying" anything.

since we are discussing this, I realize face guarding is legal in college but does anyone else like that or not?
Never understand that rule in the pros to begin with. Why should the DB have to see the ball to make a play on it??? As long as no contact is made to impede the receiver, why shouldn't he be allowed to throw his hands up to try and deflect the ball?? Stupid rule IMO, especially considering all the crap receivers are allowed to get away with.

Why?
its a TRADITIONAL update....that is the helmet we wore in the 50's
Sorry, I'm not old enough to remember the 50's. You have your opinion and I have mine and reasonable people can agree to disagree.

Michigan changed their road unis recently.
Dont bring truth and logic into a rantards argument, dont you know better? I mean Heaven forbid we do something a little different every now and then.
For the record i think those helmets are fricking sick, id love to see it at least once a season
There is a difference in making minor design tweaks and completely changing the color scheme and look of the uniform.

As for the etc schools, Miami, Oklahoma, and Ohio State are part of the promotion. They all have more history than LSU.
And they all for the most part retained their traditional colors. Our pants and helmet are both different.

So you're saying Michigan is above the likes of Oklahoma, Texas, LSU and Ohio State?
ETA: And Michigan is an Adidas school anyway
Actually, I used Michigan as an example b/c our coach played there so he should know better. There are a lot of other ways they could have gone that would have looked better than that.

Ummmmm, it's a tribute uni to the LSU teams of the 40's. Nothing wrong with that.
Look, I'm not one of those people that goes apeshit every time somebody brings up a uniform change but those things are terrible. :spank: I doubt seriously Michigan would agree to soemthing like this. I might could live with the all white but that helmet has to go.

This link has all of them.
This is the response I got from LSU when I told them the helmets were horrendous:
We will soon be unveiling a one-game change to the LSU football uniform as part of Nike’s Rivalry uniform program that will be a tribute to LSU teams of the past. Our coaches and players are excited to be participating in this program that is being employed by a number of other major schools across the country because it offers a product with cutting-edge fabric and technology. The uniforms, which will debut on LSUsports.net on Sunday, November 22, will feature a unique design with a throwback element that Tiger fans will enjoy for our season finale against Arkansas. This is a one-time uniform adjustment to honor our past. We have no plans to make any permanent changes to the traditional LSU uniform.

its sad that a UF fan has more faith in LSU than LSU fans
Comes with impartiality. The rest of us are too emotionally involved.
Not up to speed on the defensive end per Scott so he is inactive....they can only suit up 12 and he's been inactive every game so far.

I've sat in the west upper, 40 yardline, 3 or 4 rows from the bottom. These are great for seeing plays develop and catching everything that happens on the field. Didn't get as loud, and my seats were the last row in the bottom section, only 3 or 4 rows, so it didn't feel like I was in the crowd.
I hear people say that a lot but I can't say that I've noticed that on the east side. Don't know if it's just acustics or if has a lot to do with where the band used to be located....before last year, they were pointed right at me but I know the west upper couldn't hear them at all. Never sat over there so :dunno:.
I know I'm going to get hammered for this but I for one prefer the East Upper Deck to the endzones in the lower bowl. I'm in Section 632. I find that I can see the game better from the side, even though it's higher, than I did when I sat in the South endzone. The seat width and width of the aisles is greater up there too so you're not quite as packed in. Access to bathrooms and concessions is better, an important point for families and old people. I also find that I can hear the band better than when I was in the South endzone. All that said, would I like to have chairbacks in the lower bowl between the 20's?? You're damn right I would but since that ain't happening, I prefer the experience up there to that in the endzones.
Charter still doesn't carry Cox Sports unless I missed something.
Actually, I thought the problem was earlier in the route when he slowed down....had he maintained his speed, that would have been an easy catch.

Am I the only one who thinks it would be unsafe for Hatch to play this next week?
No you aren't b/c I would be very disaapointed in the staffif he plays against MSU. Hatch appears to have suffered a grade 2 concussion at a minimum which requires no contact for at least a week assuming that any residual symptoms such as headaches and dizziness have resolved.
quote:
You do know that if we had gotten it on 3rd down there we would most likely run the next 3 downs, kill the clock, and still kick the FG? Had we gotten the 1st down, the smart play is still to run the clock out and I'm almost positive that's what Payton would've done.
And run the same risk of a bad snap, hold, shank, or blocked kick. Ask Tony Romo/Dallas about those gimme field goals. Wasn't that spot inside the 10 yard line??? They could have just as easily run clock by throwing quick short passes, like, I dunno, a 7 yard out, and if one of them happened to result in a TD, then Denver has to score a TD with less than 2 minutes and no time outs. As it was, even if he makes the kick, they only needed a FG and had almost 2 minutes to get in position to get it. That's what conservative gets you. You're just too stubborn to admit it. Have a nice night.

The 3rd down run it up the gut play was retarded. We don't have the personnel for that. In the NFL, you expect your kicker to make a 43 yd FG all day especially in good weather. That's inexcusable for Gramatica.
Of course you expect him to make it but it's not a guarantee. That's the point you apparently cannot grasp that Les Miles has. You try to score the touchdown every time and only attempt the field goal when you have no other choice. :banghead:
