re: Wade VS Alleva competence or character
Posted by LAfootballDude on 3/22/19 at 7:38 am
Learned nothing...
“With the rape scandal at full boil here at Duke, Pressler was summoned to the office of then-athletic director Joe Alleva, where he was issued an ultimatum: resign immediately or risk being fired. So Pressler resigned, the sacrificial lamb needed to appease protestors and protect the school's gold-plated image.”

Wade VS Alleva competence or character

In the face of adversity, public opinion, Alleva is playing CYA, sniping comments, continuing to dig a deeper hole for himself and LSU by running his mouth. Is this low character or low competence or both?
Will wade on the other hand, seems confident in his position, listening to his council, and has at the very least not made things worst for himself and his team.
As an onlooker without access to all the facts wade has looked more competent throughout the process, and I can’t ignore the history of both men either so this isn’t exactly an unbiased assessment.
One man can’t possibly have learned nothing from his Duke experience?

re: What specific questions would you ask Goodell at his press conference next week?

Hard to be both places ??

I will be in Chicago next week with people from across the country. Looking forward to see other perspectives.
re: The truth about the no facemask call
Posted by LAfootballDude on 1/24/19 at 10:01 pm
Simply ask them if they want to trade.
You take our no PI call on 3rd down?
We will take your no face mask call?
Saints in superbowl 10x out of 10.

It all depends on your goal...
if your goal is a replay. It is a waste of money. It will never happen.
But
If your goal is to hurt the travesty that is the national football league, then by all means it’s perfect.
Create and expand doubt in the legitimacy of the league.
Mission accomplished !!

“All the saints had to do was score more points than the Rams. I don’t see a problem here.”< sarcasm font>
I mean, who cares that the other team has the same objective and at the most critical timeS the refs failed to do their job.
If the refs don’t affect the game why are they there ?
What you fools are doing is confusing coach speak with reality. Coaches say we can’t leave it in their hands, in reality sometimes both teams are evenly matched and critical calls determine Super Bowl participants.

Cecil Thomas
What type of offense did he run?

If you really think the games are being “fixed” then why do we watch?
I want to walk away from the NFL but in doing so that means walking away from the Saints..

This is why it’s so difficult. When they threatened to leave New Orleans I tried to leave the saints behind... Didn’t want to be emotionally attached, but I couldn’t do it.
The bottom line is this league is about profit not competition. The competition is merely a function of the profit motive. They are selling a product and the product is actually pride and transcendence.
I have pride in something bigger than myself. It’s a neurological hormone they are selling and I am addicted. Maybe It’s how we are hard wired as human beings.
Personally, I believe the truth in many ways is we replace God with The transcendent connection with sports today. We need him, but we don’t want him, so we substitute him.
I am going to walk away again, tough thing to do but I am tired of the cheap alternatives where there is no justice or fulfillment.
Pretty sure this is a good thing. I realize I will probably get downvoted but file this post away and when something similar happens maybe it will be enough for you to do the same. ???????

re: Saints impose will on 18-play 'championship drive'
Posted by LAfootballDude on 1/14/19 at 8:43 am
Yeah...
but my questions is a different one.
If drew completed a 20 yard pass that was called back for holding...
that will add an additional 10 yards to the drive, therefore the 117 yards would included the additional 10 yards required to get the first down but it wouldn’t include the 20 yard pass..
I understand why.
I was just curious how many yards was gained total taking penalties out of the equation (which you can’t) in other words if there were 21 plays on the drive what was the total net yards gained on the drive. (All the positive yards totaled)

I was coming to ask what was the actual yardage total?
The 117 does that include yards negated on penalties are just all the positive yards as a result of penalties?

I just hope we get 2 of the 3 back. But with Fehoko announcing he is staying I would imagine these 3 are gone.
