The only other angle I can see is if they went through the Draft process after their 3rd or 4th year, and tried to use their remaining college eligibility.
If 5 to play 5 supersedes all then you could play pro for a couple years and if you can't hang and have time to come back to college you should be able to.
I have no problem with this at all, only 1% of college kids play pros and even if you do make the pros the average length you are able to make a team and get paid is 3 yrs. Let the athletes get what they can get in the few years they are able to get paid playing a game. Just the way I see it. 5 to play 5 period.
once you pay kids they are professionals not amateurs, our whole team is ineligible as is all of college football
the are very selective in what rules they change
the are very selective in what rules they change
We been recruiting professional athletes since NIL began, f'em

college kids are no longer amateurs and become professionals once they started getting paid
once the NCAA allows paying college kids the only rules should be 5 to play 5
once colleges start paying players you can pay who you want as long as its 5 yrs to play 5 seasons
NCAA is very selective in what rules they want to enforce

100% agree
athletes have only a few years that they are good enough to get paid
if you can play pros out of high school go for it, if you get cut and you have time left in the 5 for 5 college game go for it.
Pros and College kids are both professionals since the inception of NIL.
That changed everything but 5 for 5 cleans it up.

5 to play 5 will eventually supersede everything now that college kids are paid same as professionals. You get paid where you can but only have 5 yrs in college. It aint hard understand, just different than it was.
College kids get paid, that makes them professionals
5 to play 5
get used to it

I don't care if you play pro ball right out of high school.
5 to play 5 is all you have for college regardless of if you were able to make a pro team.
You pay college kids now so times have changed.
5 to play 5...period

once you get paid your a professional and NIL forced the issue so college kids are professionals.
I don't care if a kid can go to the pros out of high school, you still have 5 to play 5 if you want to come back

The dam broke when they started paying college kids.
All for 5 to play 5
Get your where u can. Go pro out of high school if u good enough to back to college if u can’t hang and they will pay u
5 for 5 !

Understand this...things have changed recently.
Now you have 5 for 5
Now you can get paid being a college athlete with NIL
And since you only have 5 yrs of college if you can't make a pro team (even if you signed a free agent deal and got cut) and a college team wants you and you have one year left go make some money.
Why is it ok for some things to change and not this.
Matt Mauck QB'd LSU at 28 which would not be allowed in today's 5 for 5.
I dgaf if someone tried out for the pros and got cut tried to play one more year of college if it's within the 5 for 5. You are only a top athlete for maybe 5 yrs of your life, let the kids get paid one more time.
Things change. Adapt or get left behind.

They're all pros, both in college and NFL, so what difference does it make?
I agree both get paid.
The difference is....believe it or not.... college kids are tax exempt and pros pay taxes. Colleges are mostly afraid of losing their tax exempt status....and you know our government will tax them like everyone else as soon as they hire professionals and this is not amateur athletics.
This is the underlying and hidden topic no one is talking about.
My solution is you have to pay taxes on the nil money if you come back to college after being a pro but the college itself remains tax exempt.

It just ended, 5 to play 5. All the crap going on is to let those that didn't get that opportunity come back and play a 5th yr.

I would also like more drive and kicks. We just need people who can hit the 3. Not nearly enough on our current roster.
