Just there a couple weeks back and found most of the restaurants we went to to be so-so. We tried Toccoa Riverside Restaurant (great riverside seating when the weather is good), The General Ledger, Bigfoot Biscuit.
Von Chocolate and Gelato in Blairsville is awesome but a bit of a drive.

Betadine nasal rinse will knock in out in less than 4 days if you catch it early. I'd use it now if I were you. You can buy it premixed or make your own.
It is safe.

Nice heat. There is more to it than the average hot sauce(texture and flavor profile) and by average I mean the "use it on anything types" not the "peel the skin from your mouth" types that are in this thread. I would compare it to Louisiana, Crystal, Texas Pete with more flavor and the perfect heat.
I've also recently tried some of the fermented hot sauces and those are pretty good too. The little $1 displays at WM have all kinds of different hot sauces in them. I've bought some really tasty ones out of there and found some decent bbq sauces.

Didn't see any I disagree with on here. All good suggestions, even wrote a few down for next time. Just thought I'd offer my 2 cents since P'cola is our go to beach town for the last 10+ years and the oldest one just moved there.
Blackened grouper sandwich at Peg Leg's is the most satisfying seafood purchase in the county, nothing flashy just a great sandwich. We love Flounders, split everything portions are huge.
Some non-seafood:
Ozone's Pizza Pub: in the basement of an old hospital. Kind of cool environment but more bar like, we did takeout last time and it was really good.
Mama's Tacos Delicioso Of Pensacola: good Mexican, loud and bright so kids love it.
For your dessert fix Wild Honey frozen yogurt out by UWF is worth the trip.
Joe Patti's for seafood to cook or take home. Sushi bar there is some of the best I've had but has weird hours, be sure to look up hours.

Working through second jar of this with a third in the pantry. Pretty good stuff. No one has noticed in my cole slaw.

We bought one off Ziplinegear.com but man have the prices gone up since then. Make sure you borrow/buy/own a come along to get the tension right. Without it you'll never get it where you want it. We set ours up where the only ground point that could get in the way of mowing was the brake anchor. I poured a concrete footing below the ground with an eye bolt in it and used a carabiner for the brake to connect to it so I could remove it if needed. If you put it under a power line and they come in to do tree work they will cut it.

It would be out of the way but worth it. J. Rodgers BBQ and Soul Food in Saraland used to be awesome. Stopped there for lunch, was AYCE back then. BBQ, Ribs, Wings, rutabagas, greens with whole jalapeño cooked in them until tender enough to just mash them with your fork and stir them in.

Martin is the only kid from MS and he plays for Florida.
He was part of the magical FAU FF team in 23. Coach and 1 player from that team are at Michigan and another is at Arkansas.

Just bought a 100' hydrotech from WM. Never owned one before. It has a 10 year warranty that you register it for. Plan to take them up on that. Will see how it goes.

smoke makes pork red with nothing added to it. Ham is often smoked.
I'd imagine most of the color is from the curing process.

re: Fence Suggestions - Wood vs Metal Posts & Pine vs Cedar
Posted by Amorybulldog on 2/25/25 at 12:33 pm to DMAN1968
I just put up a new fence replacing a pine on pine fence of 20+ years. In that time I've replaced maybe 6 boards and one post that broke. I used Yellawood all the way around with no post installation treatment. I used 5/4 decking for the boards though, about $300 more but worth it. Deck boards don't twist and turn much. The 4x4's from old fence could have been reused but I reconfigured the fence and moved it further out.

I've watched all our games and have yet to see the ticky tack crew. I've seen them call some good fouls that look ticky tack after all the mugging they've allowed in the first half. It's nuts.
Can you tie a ball up for a jump ball by wrapping your arms around a players back or head/shoulders and it not be a foul? This and the moving screen calls seem to have gone the way of the dodo for most games I've seen. Traveling is reaching NBA level absurdity too.

I'm worried the terrible SEC officiating that "let's them play" is going to set us up for failure in the tourney. We are going to be used to getting away with all the contact and then the non SEC officials are going to put a stop to it and put the SEC teams in foul trouble. I wouldn't be surprised if half of them are out the first weekend.

Homemade pepper jelly is the way! The store bought can't hold a candle to it. I make it and put some of 5-7 homegrown pepper varieties in it. Changes every year and often changes from batch to batch.
A lot of places make it tight like jelly for pb & j, pepper jelly needs to be kind of runny.
I made a batch 2 years ago with Tinidad scorpions and Carolina Reapers in it (pit and seeds removed). That jelly is awesome but the heat is unbearable after 2-3 crackers.

Have any of you foodies tried this?
Comes from a little ol' meat market in the sticks in Alabama. Hunters Gold Custom Meats. Website is simple, but FB is pretty active.

Great place, great owner. If you get close it is worth the drive.

This is spot on. Are we shirting Clary?
Why not hand it over to Warren and move Josh to the 2?
Hard to believe that both centers are a bust.

I stand corrected here.
Not GMO. Apparently US wheat has a higher gluten content then that grown in other countries, sounds like we bred it this way but not going down that rabbit hole.
Older seed (same seed since pre 1950 according to one mill) seems to be best or foreign flour if you have a gluten sensitivity. This is from my daughter's experience.
