I was a sophmore at ULL. Crazy that ULL shut down one day while LSU had the largest field hospital 40 miles away, and was closed for 3 weeks. I remember having class and going to the bookstore with CNN showing people at convention center - to HELP US NOW. I transferred to LSU after and suffered alot of depression after all this in early 2006.

I have since graduated and moved to Miami where we have a beautiful life. I show my college students the Saints documentary on it in the summers here when the population was wanting and needing the Saints to come back home and play in 2006. I take pride in working at the SUperdome for over 13 years post Katrina. I take pride in the spirit of New Orleans in the rebuilding that I played in. My partents are still in Metairie and we love going back to NOLA.

I teach College and spend alot of time with my kids. I am blessed to be able to do my job and do pickups, read to classes, volunteer at the school, and be there. My job is flexible and better than alot of other parents I see who do not get to be at pracitces and games. I love it. I am glad I know how to change a diaper and can be relied upon to care for my kids (5 and 2). I still hate how the previous generations let mom do all the child rearing.

Do NEw Orleans. Not even close. New Orleans is one of the top cities in the world for tourism, good food, good music, and great entertainment.
