re: Do we take a QB with our top 5 pick next year?

The first two wins were a fully healthy team with an above average starting quality NFL QB. We likely don’t have that this year, no disrespect to Shough. 5-8 wins still is very plausible though I think.

they'll be taking snaps away from the 3 main candidates who, let's face it, need all the snaps they can get before the season starts.
Haener is not a candidate for anything.

Any reason you want to trash our second round pick, hasn’t played a down, likely starting QB on Saturday night?

Deshaun Watson is 29 today, was younger when his saga started. He’s obviously not retiring, it’s not a comparable situation.

I like his potential but I’m still very much not expecting much from him this season. This team will be much more complete in two years.

He didn’t want to come back…
re: Could “tank for Arch” be a legitimate goal?

There is nothing generational about him right now. He’s no different than any other top QB in a good year.

He didn’t want to have surgery/rehab and doesn’t want to play football anymore. How exactly is it unselfish then? I’m not judging him, but he’s doing what he wants to do.

I mean yea did you not realize this? We’re rebuilding.

Plus we released the vet we had, so it obviously wasn't viewed as a need to have a vet just to have a vet.
The practice squad QB that wasn’t signed under Moore?

The HC has a lot of responsibilities to be spending THAT much time with them vs just signing a good mentor vet. There’s no downside.

How are we beating the Bucs twice?

I agree but we don’t know yet if Moore is going to be the stubborn type and have “his guy” since it’ll only be year two. Hopefully not though.

They just update the team on rehab and maybe come in every once in a while so the team can check their progress.
Lol. This is literally not what you originally said. You said he could do whatever he wants and tell no one his plans.

Wish him success, but it's very likely he's a career backup or traded within 2-3 years and we get our franchise guy in next year's draft.
This is very likely for every QB ever drafted.

Why is this getting downvoted to oblivion? It’s fairly obvious a veteran backup is needed in camp.
Can people not read and think this means as a starter?

Agree and it’s weird to me anyone is particularly negative right now. This season will probably be a little rough but things are pretty hopeful after that at least. I just hope they remain flexible at QB if Shough isn’t it.

You literally said keep his plans to himself. He cannot do that, it’s very simple. He has obligations in his contract. They can agree he can go frick off, sure, that’s not keeping his plans to himself.

$7m saved this year, $25m next year.
