Contract extension for DeBoer?

If Byrne gives him a contract extension, I hope he (Byrne) is fired. We have seen two seasons of Bama being soft, and lacking the physicality to control the line of scrimmage (especially on offense). 2025 rushing game worst at Bama since 1946. That’s unacceptable!

I hope DeBoer goes to Michigan. Be nice if Saban came out of retirement to coach Bama next year. This is a poorly coached team.
THIS is part of the problem with the whole team. They think they are better than they are. I remember when Hubbard had an interception in the Auburn game, many of the defense huddled up around him for a picture. The game was very much undecided, at that point. That would never have happened under Saban. BL, Bama players under DeBoer are “All Hat and no Cattle.” But, that’s not even half the problem. Coaching is bad…real bad. Really wish Saban could have hung on 2 more years.

Agreed. Ty has shown glimpses of being a superior QB. But, he has also shown a lot of “folding under pressure.” I would like to see what Keelon can do for Bama. Assuming we don’t make the playoffs, hope DeBoer plays Keelon enough in the bowl game to see where he’s at in his progression as Bama’s next QB.

Knocked us out of playoffs. Team didn’t play well, but that’s one of the worst coaching jobs I’ve seen in a long time. Also, DeBoer teams don’t play 4 quarters. Frustrating.

Simpson doesn’t have time to throw - and can’t hit receivers when he does - or, receivers drop it. Sustain a drive and give the defense a breather.
Offensive Line and Running Backs Worst since…

Shula. In fact, Bama’s rushing attack in 2025 is worse than every other Bama team, over past 25 years…save 2006. O Line can’t create holes - and Running Backs have the inability to find a hole. Many times, I have watched Miller hit the hole called, when there was an opening elsewhere…and he just couldn’t find it. One dimensional teams will struggle to win championships.

I knew it was going to be impossible to replace Saban, but I can’t understand hiring someone with no SEC experience that had a good season in the PAC 12. We could have had Kiffin. Byrne should be fired…not just got such a bad hire, but also for agreeing to a 70+ million buyout. We are stuck with DeBoer…for years.
DeBoer is out of his league. Byrne should be fired for this hire…especially in light of the buyout. DeBoer has no incentive to work his arse off, and win. He’s probably hoping he gets fired, do he can retire early. Mal Moore put Bama back on too. His successor tore it back down.
If Bama’s defense is supposed to be strength of team, Bama is in trouble.
I hold DeBoer ultimately responsible. He didn’t have the courage to try something new yesterday. He should have brought Simpson in for a couple series to see if he could spark something on offense. If he didn’t succeed, Milroe sitting on the bench might have settled him right down. DeBoer could have brought Milroe back in at that time. Honestly, though, I don’t see how Simpson could have played as bad as Milroe. DeBoer didn’t have much to lose to try something new…but, he didn’t have the intestinal fortitude to do it.

For hiring DeBoer over Kiffin. With Kiffin, we would have kept most of our team (e.g., Bond). Kiffin would have also brought several Ole Miss players with him, including Dart. With Kiffin, we are in the playoffs. Fire Byrne!

If DeBoer didn’t have the confidence to play Simpson in this game - given how poorly Milroe played - he probably has little chance of winning the job next year. Was hoping he would win the job THIS YEAR. Maybe Russell comes in ready to start as a True Freshman.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Simpson goes into the portal. If DeBoer didn’t have enough confidence to play him, today (in light of how badly Milroe played), I don’t see him getting the starting job next year.
Damn glad Milroe is gone. Don’t want to watch another down from him.
This team has too much talent to be playing like this. That’s coaching…plain and simple.
