re: Transferring company stocks

Do you actually know your cost basis? If so, most brokerage accounts allow you to manually edit your cost basis. Keep in mind, you need accurate records to verify your numbers in case Uncle Sam asks for proof.

8” to 10” stones to me not only work well but look good
I have a rental home that needed pretty extensive plumbing work and the plumber I hired gave me a $6200 estimate. As the job progressed, more work was in needed and I agreed verbally to an additional $2000. When the job was finished, the plumber presented me with a final invoice of $10,380. I questioned him on it and he simply says that the materials and labor added up to more than he expected, but that his invoice is accurate and he wants full payment. He provided me with a breakdown of his and his employees labor and a material list, but I have no way to verify the accuracy of his labor and most of the materials are inside the walls and attic and I cannot confirm its accuracy.

I offered him $9000, but he wants the whole amount.

I think he is trying to pull one over on me, but I don’t want to risk a lien being placed in the house.

Should I continue to challenge him, continue to negotiate with him, or simply send him a check for the original $8200. Or, should I consult an attorney?

Thanks…
Read the first paragraph in my post, I explain this.
I’m so sick of the moaning and groaning about gas prices and the price of a barrel of oil. Our future as a country is worth paying a little more and this situation with Iran will pay off long term for all of us, no more bully in the Middle East, freedom of shipping, no nuclear weapons for Iran, and their terror proxies are destroyed.

I used AI and determined that the average price per barrel of oil over the past 10 years and it’s $64.73. The prices per barrel during the 4 year Biden administration was $71.26.

I then asked what the prices per barrel of oil should be using the average of the past 10 years and adjusting the price per barrel for inflation. The result is $78.15.

The prices per barrel of oil today, 7/16/26, is $79.54.

re: Jim Cramer and IBM

I’m watching tonight’s show and he said Amazon is dead money going forward, so let’s see what Amazon stock does over the next 10 days.
He voluntarily retired, he’s not getting paid any of the guarantees. It’s dead cap money on the Saints Roster. The only way he would get his guaranteed money was to be active, even if riding the bench and even if her were cut by the Saints. However, he retired, so none of that applies.

Jim Cramer and IBM

On July 9th, 2026 a caller to his show asked about buying IBM stock and Cramer emphatically said to Buy It!

On July 14, it dropped 24% and today it dropped another 2.7%.

Yesterday, on his show, he discussed IBM in detail and completely disparaged the company and said it cannot be invested in. However, he did not apologize or even discuss his recommendation on the stock less than a week earlier.

I know he cannot be right all the time and I know his show is popular and gets ratings, I watch it almost daily. However, this situation is inexcusable.

Tuna, chicken or egg salad sandwich

Posted by Skippy1013 on 7/12/26 at 10:33 am
My rank, if properly made:

Tuna salad
Chicken salad
Egg salad

It’s weird, because I like the taste of chicken better than Tuna, but when mixed for a salad sandwich, Tuna takes the lead.

I found 2 exact vehicles at a local dealership and an out of town dealership and began negotiating price. The out of town dealer was first to respond and I got the deal that I wanted and started the process, got loan approval and all of the paperwork ready, all I have to do is go get it.

I decided to call the local dealership and told them of my pending purchase and said I preferred to buy from them, because they are in the town I live. I gave them a copy of my pending deal, all of the numbers and showed them everything they asked for. All they had to do was give me the same deal, but they wouldn’t not do it.

I wonder why? It’s an easy sale, done deal…seems strange to me that a local dealership would let me go like this.

Anybody in the car business have any insight?

re: Anyone taking Repatha?

Posted by Skippy1013 on 6/25/26 at 5:20 pm to
I’ve taken it for over 2 years and have zero side effects. My cholesterol levels are now excellent. I have high cholesterol due to genetics, because I’m not overweight, eat healthy and exercise. I took statins prior to Repatha, but had some side effects. It’s kind of expensive, my insurance pays some and my pharmacy gets a coupon from the manufacturer, thus making my out of pocket only $25 per month.

Wrong Board, I know…

This show may be unrealistic, but it’s damn good and fun to watch!

She is embarrassed to tell you, but wants to look better and get healthier. Do you love her? I would not make a big issue out of this, she is going through a lot with the breast cancer thing.

They want fees. They will reduce your rate by .5%, but put their fees inside the new mortgage.

They can spray and clean for this and install UV lights, cost would be about $1000
I guess I think a little different when it comes to “war”. We have not declared war on Iran and they, as far as I know have not declared war on us. This is called “Operation Epic Fury”.

It’s more like a military operation such as Venezuela, Panama, Grenada, but admittedly much more in depth. However, the actual “Hot” part of the operation was very short, not like Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam Nam, Korea or the World Wars.

I believe 13 soldiers have been killed, 7 in Kuwait from a drone attack and 6 when a KC-135 crashed in a non-hostile situation.

Are we at war? Is this a media driven term to try to upset people, harm the economy or make the Administration look bad. Is it pushed to give talking points for the upcoming mid-term elections.
