I caught this show in Laguna Beach a couple of weeks ago. It doesn't get more "surf music" than this. Hell, the greatest surfer of all time is even on the stage banging a tamborine.

I forgot to ask about the LA shows. I went to the Saturday show. We were even closer this time than at Cardiff show. We were a few feet away from the crying chick that made the album cover

yeah, not questioning they were bigger in the UK... Even this tour, they did 5 nights in their hometown of Manchester and 5 in Wembley.. they probably could have doubled those dates given the ticket demand..

They probably could have tripled the London and Manchester dates. When the shows were announced, there were 14 million people worldwide that were vying for 1.4 million tickets total. Most people were online for 10 or more hours and still didn't get tickets. Pretty insane for a band that hasn't been around for 16 years.

Taking my super fan 7 year old to Roger’s stadium in Toronto tonight.

Figured it would be most mellow of all the shows and had airline miles. Way cheaper than any other show

How was the show? Looked like you guys got some rain.

I've got tickets to LA Sat night show in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to it again!
Thanks for posting. I kinda dig this. Love some shoegaze.

Awesome pics! I was in Manchester the night of the first Cardiff show. We found an Oasis-themed bar to go hang out, and they were broadcasting a livestream from the concert. There were about a hundred or so folks there all getting hammered and singing their lungs out. It was almost like being at the show itself. Caught a train to cardiff the next morning, arrived in cardiff around noon and headed straight to the stadium for ticket upgrade. (Someone told me they were at the first show and they gave out about 5000-6000 complimentary upgrades to "golden circle" if you had a regular general admission ticket.) Got the ticket upgrade, went to my air bnb for a nap, and strolled into the stadium about 10 min before Ashcroft started (I saw Cast last year for LG Def Maybe show and had no need to sit thru that again lol.) And we still managed to get pretty close. We could see the band fine without the screens. But my left eardrum was buzzing for a few days after...it was loud af

Love Sam Fender. Some of his earlier stuff sounds 80s-ish, like Angel of Lothian and Hypersonic Missles. Hes a huge Tom Petty/Bruce Springsteen fan.

Agree 100%. Best band to come along in a long time. Caught them in Nola several months ago and the show was great.

Televised Mind is another banger from them.

But, sentiment has shifted over the past couple of years with most thinking Noel needs Liam more than the other way around.

Thats actually not a very common sentiment, but I couldnt agree with you more. What was somewhat striking at the Cardiff shows (I was there on Night 2) was how firmly in control Liam looked, and how out of place Noel looked. Liam was 100% in peak form and Noel struggled on some parts of his vocals (although his lead guitar skills were on point after so many years off.) Besides, as good as Noel's songwriting still is, sales of his last album were pretty bad. Ive followed Liams career pretty closely since 2016, and he has only gotten more popular, especially with the younger folks. Id definitely say that Noel needs Liam more now than Liam needs Noel. But to Liams credit, he has consistently maintained that he would drop everything to get back together with Noel again.

Saw the set lits for the first two shows were identical. Hope they mix it up during the tour and throw in some deep cuts.

Unfortunately, they are pretty well known for not changing up set lists throughout tours in the past.

FWIW I’ve done MANY deep dives over the last year when this thing was announced and I got tickets.

It’s pretty commonly agreed upon that their relationship is actually better than is perceived by the public and has been for a good part of a decade. Likely a bit of showmanship in the media as they’ve aged, gotten more mellow, and knew that dragging this “feud” out in the British media would result in this exact demand for a reunion.

Yeah, it's definitely been played up quite a bit. But Liam popping off about Noel's wife a few times over the years didn't help.

There are actually several factors that played a part in the reunion: (1) Noel getting a divorce (think of his ex-wife as the Yoko Ono of Oasis getting back to together), (2) Noel having to stroke an 8-figure check to said ex-wife (this is probably a HUGE factor), (3) Noel gets his Oasis publishing rights back within the next year or so and is setting this all up for a nice sell, (4) his last album (which he thought is some of his best work to date) sold like 20 copies, (5) Liam selling out Knebworth by himself in 2022 (which I'm sure pissed Noel off), and (6) Liam becoming a little more chilled out with age and more importantly, taking care of himself and getting his old voice back.

Perhaps most interesting in all of this is how much the younger kids LOVE Oasis....I went to the LG show in Manchester last year, and probably over half the crowd there were not even born yet when they wrote Wonderwall lol. I'm expecting the same thing with the reunion tour. The kids are mad fer it too.
