re: Guide recommendations for Grenada Lake

I’ve got a buddy that’s been guiding on all three of those lakes for a while. His dad was guiding there for years before my buddy started.

Because of her & her predecessor, the State of MO is once again lobbying to take over the STLPD force. It's been taken over by the state before & needs to be done again soon.

Nice write up Bapple
I just put in a 6L80 tranny on my 2015 Silverado with a 5.3 at 100k miles. After reading your post on the H&G forum on your HD Tuner that you wrote, I've been investigating that option.
Did you go the route of using the Sonnax machined torque converter cover?

As someone who recently had to replace my 2015 Silverado transmission at 100K miles, you may also want to look into bullet proofing a 6L80E transmission while you're at it.
So far, so good on the engine, tranny not so much!

re: Gas Grill repair question

Does it have a side pan burner that could possibly turned be ON prior to igniting?
I bought a used Weber Genesis S330 for cheap doing the same thing. Turns out the side burner was turned on. When turned to the OFF, the grill would get up to 700*.

That's rough & I'm sorry you have to go thru that again. I'm almost 70 and dreading the prospect of going thru it. With your rotator damage, why did they opt for the primary instead of reverse to start with? I'm still researching this & want to hear what others have gone thru.
Best of luck

That sucks! I've been holding off on a primary shoulder joint replacement. A buddy had the reverse done 2 years ago and is doing pretty well.

I ate a lot of canned ham at my grandparent's farm growing up from hogs they slaughtered. Never ever got tired of eating it.

We used them for a 6' sliding glass door in a walkout finished basement. Not going to be the cheapest, but they did an excellent job trimming out the return casement.
This replaced a Pella door installed by HD contractors. That door was never right and started falling apart.

I did in 1970 visiting my grandparents farm between Arab & Puxico MO. Witnessed with my younger brother, mom, grandparents, aunt, & uncle. I was 16 at the time. We were sitting outside (no AC) cooling off and way off in the distance I spotted what I thought was a satellite moving towards us from a real low full July moon.
Upon reaching us, it (classic upside down coffee cup on a plate) it hovered over us for a few minutes, then made a few zig zags and in a flash flew back the same direction in came from with no noise at all.
We lived within a few miles of McDonnell Aircraft (Lambert Airport) and I saw Voodoos & F4s regularly growing up. They couldn't touch the exit speed of this thing. It was creepy!

I remember one issue where a hunter was attacked by almost a dozen bobcats that jumped out of a tree he was hunting under and attacked him. I really doubt it happened, but don't let the facts get in the way of a good story

Very cool! There was an area on my grandpa's farm in SEMO where people would find them (I never did) after plowing.
Also was a spot where there may have been an earthen kiln as nothing would ever grow.

It has a small hill (1/2ac). I bought it used with 75hrs on it. That person lived on a steep hill with an acre or more. I thought the guy needed goats instead of a lawn tractor.
JD & CC won't work on the tranny, they'll make you buy a new onw for about $1K. Tuff Torque will sell you a K46 rebuild kit for a couple hundred.

I think all of those use a Tuff Torque K46 hydrostatic transmission, which is pretty durable. The problem is the unit sold to all three of those brands is there no drain or fill plugs (cost savings). You have to crack open the housing to change the oil. I'm pretty sure they use SAE 30W oil. Whereas from Tuff Torque they come filled with Mobil 1 with drain fill/drain plugs. Make sure you run full throttle when mowing & keep debris of the top of the fan above the transmission.
I have a JD L110 (2004) with about 500hrs and haven't had any trans slippage issues. YMMV.

I thought mine was radio was going bad & was getting ready to pull off both A pillars and the front dash cover to get access to the two ground lugs. Turns out rodents had been chewing on the harness tucked way back in the fender near the antenna. Bastards did about $2200 worth of damage, but the radio is working normally now. 2015 Silverado

here it is. I had gray smoke the whole time.
Dumping a bunch of chips or chunks and not letting them catch fire will give you gray smoke. Thin blue smoke (TBS) is what you want when you put the meat on. After the meat hits +-165*, it's absorbed as much smoke as it can.
