I appreciate you baws giving words of encouragement. I am trying to stay positive but is getting tough just not knowing what to do. My wife has started the ss disability process but that has been a tough one for me to accept

No just trying to lighten the mood i guess. To be fair, she is actually a little blurry so may not be as good looking as i think. Seriously though, i am comfortable with her knowledge and trusting her diagnosis.
My dr is a neuro-oph from UAB so I am comfortable with her. (She is not bad looking)

Never heard of patch therapy but will definitely ask the dr about it. Surgery has not been mentioned but the dr wants to find the cause before deciding my options. Going through genetic testing now and have a CAT scan scheduled so hopefully that will atleast give some answers. Thank you very much for the encouragement though. It has indeed been a very stressful and draining few months

My current position is athletic grounds maintenance at a university. I started working grounds/landscape as a summer job while in school and it turned into a 20yr career. "I will go back next semester" was one of my biggest mistakes

I am a diabetic and honestly figured diabetes was the cause but 3 specialist have confirmed that my retinas show no sign of diabetic retinopathy. The current dr is genetic testing me for LHON. Unfortunately there is little to do as far as treatment

Ok ot, i need some advice. Im 40 and have recently been told I am "borderline" legally blind and not legal to drive. I have noticed my vision take a significant dive in the last year or so but honestly was hoping it was just age related vision loss. I have now seen 4 specialist and now have found out that my optic nerve is severely affected. Currently going through testing to find out the cause but now i have no clue what to do as far as work since my job requires heavy equipment use. My wife(no pics) luckily has a stable job but honestly i now feel like a worthless pos knowing i wont be able to continue working/driving. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
You and me both but must say TD is 100x better

Without going into our life story, the wife and I are wanting another baby to complete our family. We have a 6yr old boy but due to fertility issues we now must look at another route. We just recently learned of embryo adoption and just started the application process so not very far into the process as of now. Was just curious if anyone here had been through the process
