Tell Will Davis there is an assistant coach position at Mercer University in Macon, Ga. that is open. It is a bump up from his Volunteer assistant position. He has to climb the ladder and not just expect to bypass to a Head Coaching job.

Will Davis was a volunteer assistant that was passed over as an assistant twice. It's hard to go from a volunteer assistant all the way to a Head Coach. He needs to find someplace that will hire him as a paid assistant first.

If they don't name an interim coach they could lose the recruits they've signed.
I would take Blake Dean in a minute. He was a great ballplayer, hitter & did a great job as an Undergrad Assistant Baseball Coach at LSU. He got another year coaching under his belt this year at The University of New Orleans under Ron Maestri.
HECK YEA, BLAKE DEAN DESERVES A SHOT! HE HELPED THEM 2 YEARS AGO. THE PROOFS IN THE PUDDING.
