I played trombone in 6th and 7th grades but had to quit when I got braces on my teeth. I was never any good though.

As much as I love Paul, he’s lost it; voice is terrible.

Posts for gate
Posted by Edwardo on 12/9/24 at 5:05 pm
I’m about to put up a new gate to my property to replace one that loggers messed up. I’ll be using 6x6 treated posts. My question is should I coat the below ground portion with anything? To bad they did away with cca treatments.

I’ve had a Kubota MX 5400 for 3 years annd could not be happier. Whatever you get, make sure it has a loader and 4wheel drive.

Last Stand is an amazing book; those sailors on the destroyers were so very brave to take on Japanese cruisers and battleships.
re: Do any of you own timber land?

I got 7 lump sum bids. The high bidder left nearly $30,000 on the table; I’m not complaining though.

Two years ago I got $14/ton for pine pulpwood and $28/ton for small chip-n-saw in a second thinning. Earlier this year I got $4300/acre for a 40 year old pine plantation clearcut. This is in SE Alabama. So prices are decent here; but still not as good as pre-2008. The property has been managed by a professional forester; me.

For you painters out there, what’s the process for prepping and painting an exterior concrete block wall? What’s some good paint brands to go with?

Another good holly is Nellie R Steven’s. It has a nice pyramidal shape. There are other similar holly varieties.

Cruised timber
re: Roundup question
Posted by Edwardo on 3/31/24 at 9:54 am
It’s according to what tree species you are spraying around. Roundup will damage trees, especially young trees with thin bark, such as crape myrtle, beech, etc. If they have any green in the bark, they are susceptible.
