My 6 year old has started to show interest in Pokémon. I am no longer a gamer, but had a GBC, GBA and SP when they came out. Some of my fondest memories were playing the Gen I-III games and was going to get something for nostalgia. I am looking at hand held options and can’t tell what is Chinese trash or not.

Any recommendations from the board? I may get one for myself too
Unfortunately, she had an aneurysm that ruptured. It was very unexpected and very fast.
Wanted to update the board that Gris Gris passed away this afternoon. The three she loved most were her family, the LSU Tigers, and good food! She also enjoyed getting the scoop and good recipes on TigerDroppings.

Obituary
Got my stuff in and finished up today. It’s crazy how small the parts are in person. Hands were pretty easy to get on but I had trouble with clearance so had to slightly bend the seconds hand.

This case was also tricky as it had a plastic insert to make the NH35 fit. It’s a bad design but what do you expect. I had to spray paint it black to blend with the case.

Cutting the stem wasn’t bad. I forgot to order locktite so I’ll glue the crown to the stem later.

The final product with the help of a Canva AI background. Pretty happy with it!

(Apparently IMGUR won’t post. Will fix later)

You don't have to put 20% down for conventional. Sometimes you can go as low as 5% depending on credit and income.
Wristwatch Revival is what got me into it.

That and my father-in-law deals in very high-end watches. I am very interested to see the looks I get if I can get this build done correctly.
That’s is incredibly helpful. Thanks for the time typing all of that out. I went the AliExpress route so going to have to wait 2 weeks to get everything in. I am really most worried about fitting the stem so I bought 5 extras to have on hand. I still need to get a few tools before parts come in.

I did order an extra, orange strap so I will see if they are compatible. It’s a Chinese knock-off case so I will have to see how accurate it is.

I am not ready to go all in on the crystal press yet so hoping to use all-in-one cases for my first few builds. Any suggestions on where to look for quality cases with crystals installed?
Yep. That seems to be the standard across most entry/mid-level folks.
Any must have tools you’d recommend?
I just started getting into the watch world, but my pocketbook and taste don’t align. I went down the rabbit hole and found the DIY watch making and modding YouTube community. Infinite options of cases/dials/hands.

Anyone here make or mod their own watches? I just ordered the parts for my first build and would love any tips/tricks. I have always loved the Patek Aquanauts, so going to try to make a black on black Aquanaut-inspired piece with orange hands. If it goes well, a Land-Dweller piece is coming next.
Not as familiar with Zoysia, but I have been trying to wait until the last 20 minutes of daylight to spray so the temps are down.

Exactly this.

And $500 for a charter trip is a steal at the moment. Most are $750-$1,000.
Pre-Covid numbers are irrelevant

Price of guides is pegged to the cost of boats, gas and miller lite.

Would be ideal if I didn't have a 2.5% interest rate on my current house. Buying a new house with a pool would probably be a net loss, unfortunately.

I saw pictures from the last two hard freezes and it was a ton of fish that got killed. It has to have some impact.
Sprayed PGR so mowing every 7ish days now. I give 2lbs N per 1kft two times each summer.

But yes, its a big yard and have small kids so time I can spend is very limited. Also no sprinkler system so rely on rainfall to water
