Regan's speech at a campaign event for Goldwater - "A Time for Choosing".

From Oct. 1964. Still meaningful today.

From the few of her songs that I've heard she would have to change her voice & delivery. Her voice sounds like she's trying to whisper everything. Maybe my ears need to be cleaned! Also, don't they normally go with an act that's upbeat and high energy?

Forgot to add - that was the only homer of his career.

I remember him hitting a home run in game 2.

Yes - correct - forgot about that.

And after reading more about that series, I forgot that Gibson had 17 strikeouts in game 1. And both McClain and Lolich pitched and won games 6 & 7 on 2 days rest.

Just noticed this from the ESPN article:

Lolich pitched Game 7 after only two days of rest. He figured he would get a Corvette from General Motors for being the Series MVP but had to settle for a Dodge Charger GT because Chrysler was the sponsor in 1968

It wasn't as nice as a 69 Vette, but the old Dodge Charger's were much different than they are now.

Absolute good ole days. Searching that paper to see if your team won

In 68 I had just started 8th grade. Since these were day games, the only way to hear the game was to cut school and find a radio broadcast. The next day's paper was the best method to catch up on the details.

If my memory is correct, McClain started games 1, 4, and 6, loosing the first two. The decision to start him in game 6 was somewhat of a surprise and the Cardinals assumed that he was being saved for game 7. The Tiger's won game 6 and that meant Lolich vs. Gibson in game 7. Time to go to the internet to confirm my memory!

Just heard about this. Mickey Lolich passed away. Was the hero of the '68 World Series. Won the 7th game vs. Bob Gibson. Was mostly not mentioned before that series because Denny McClain won 31 games that year, but earned his fame as a result of the series. Pitched 3 complete game wins in that series.

I recall following the box scores for this series in the daily paper as the games were played during the day.

Not exactly. Elaine Bennes took one for me.
So this means more screen time for Brooke Lazier?

I read somewhere (may have been Issacon's book on Elon) that the main reason he didn't get along with Xavier was his love of communism. Here Elon is able to provide unlimited financial support, due to capitalism, and Xavier is like "forget that". One more reason to hate the woke mind virus.

Catholics do not worship Mary.

Correct. They adore her much as you would your own mother.
They pray to her asking for her intercession with her son, much as they do when they pray to other saints.

From a Google AI search

“ Effective November 15, 2025, YouTube TV subscribers now have access to ESPN Unlimited at no additional cost as part of a new distribution agreement with Disney.”

Any guesses on what the increase will look like in about a year?
