there's some story out there about how this occurred

Basically made Claypool a sanctuary by using guns and cannons on every bit of water around

Could say the first time, that lint might have contributed to element failing. Hard to saw that the second time. And I definitely made sure the exhaust was clean after the second time.

Kenmore Dryer Question

figure it's worth a shot to see if anyone can help

Kemore dryer - approx 10-12 years old. Same as Whirlpool Cabario and Maytag Bravio when it was new.

have replaced heating element twice. Maybe 4-5 years ago and again 5 months ago. Not heating again. Assume it's element again and have one ordered. Kind of a pain but going to replace again

My question - should I be looking for something else for this to happen again? I've tested the thermal fuse and other stuff and appears fine. The element was clearly broken each time.

Almost ready to say screw it and get the speed queen dryer to match the washing machine
a bunch of different snap caps

think shipping cost was $10

Helicopter hunt is a consideration. May make this part of something else (bird hunts/clays shooting) if it's what's chosen. Would like trip to be at least a week and can't afford a week of that

2026 Hunt Recommendations

Posted by Stateguy on 8/30/25 at 10:55 pm
Looking for recommendations on pretty much any hunt. A specific guide/outfitter or area

Brother turns 50 next September and want to take him on a hunt. Top of my wish list would be rifle elk or Argentina dove. But I'm not sure I'm willing to foot the bill for 2 people doing that.

About the only things that I don't want are deer or Arkansas ducks - things he's done before a few times or exotics in Texas

Biggest requirement is high likelihood of success (not high fence deer success rate) and not crazy physical requirements (neither one of us are climbing mountains to hunt).

I've got a contact for a Wyoming antelope guide but that's about as far as I've made it.

I'm willing to entertain pretty much anything. Combo pheasant/duck has been an idea. Canada? Mule deer?

didn't Hedeman skip a ride on Bodacious when he drew him again?

For one of those crazy people to skip a bull shows the crazy respect he had for the bull

re: 1099 Write off question

Sorry - brainfart

I have 457 at work so I can have solo 401k with 1099 income

Rules for multiple 401k are more than I know. Can check white coat investor about this. A lot of docs have income from multiple employers

Having SEP IRA makes backdoor Roth IRA more difficult.

Why recommend SEP IRA over Solo 401?

There should be zero estate tax on any amount. All cash and assets in an estate have had taxes paid on it already. The only taxes paid by a heir should be any unpaid taxes owed by the deceased at time of death on the assets bequeathed to the heir.

while I generally agree with you on here, and I'm generally for the tax changes, you used a pretty broad stroke to say that all taxes have been paid on estates passed down

Taxes have not been paid on many things that wealth has accumulated. That the step up in basis - happens for stocks, homes, and land (the part I assume you're most worried about). I'm not trying to say there shouldn't be that step up or that I agree with how some families are taxed in large land transfers - just disagree that taxes have always "been paid" on an estate

Listening to a lot of economics podcasts over the last few years

Said there was a housing shortage and that we needed millions more homes and this was a driver to home prices. Does this new number mean we built those homes or did people just quit looking for homes?

how often do you check the rate on this? Moderately higher than my HYSA. Don't have a good reason but have been hesitant to move to this
