And the slimiest coach in all of college basketball, Calipari, pulls in 5 * 's every year and no one bats an eye (despite leaving prior programs he's been at a mess). And UNC can't say a word knowing the class situation there......I like how they know how everyone else feels when someone gets decent recruits.

Yes $3.5 is high. Yes it puts Martin near top of list.....this year! Looking at that list Marshall is making $3 and Jay Wright is at $2.4? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that neither one of them is signing their next contract remotely close to that. (As are most of those coaches making $2-2.5 mil). Illini are reportedly already offering over $4 for Bennett. Martin will slide down that list every year. Sterk made an good offer and sets up Martin to stay for 5 and if goes well it will be a friendly contract in years 3-5. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money. (Oops, now saying 7 years)

As a fan I'm comfortable with hiring a P5 coach who's coached in Missouri and has ties to St. Louis and as a added bonus may get a Porter back.
