Wow, ruined his life in an instant.

What about the lives that he ended and the others he ruined?

but the PI call itself was HORRENDOUS

I am not certain what you were watching. The defensive player latched on to the receiver, then the receiver pushed off to get loose. At a minimum it was defensive holding.

PI was the right call.

What happened after was the worst officiating I have witnessed, and I have been watching football since the earth was cooling. The officials essentially rewarded the bad behavior by UT fans by overturning their own call on a non-reviewable play. The call had obviously been finalized by setting the spot and allowing Georgia to line up for the next play.

re: Weeks targeting video?

Posted by Housplants on 10/13/24 at 7:53 pm
Dart was a runner, he ducked his head, and weeks made contact with his helmet with his face mask...not the crown of his helmet. That is not targeting.

Had he made contact with Dart's helmet with his crown, it would have been targeting.

Shut up

Brilliant retort...
Saints have a QB that is not a runner, so they use the I formation and under center with a single back allowing running game to both sides of the field.

Makes the running game way less predictable and opens up true play action passing game.

Stole a run there with some little league baseball.

With the coldest hitter in the lineup at the plate, that was big league baseball.
Favorite: Pistol Pete, with Chris Jackson a close second

Least Favorite: Lester Earl...not close

And a big downvote for the person that chose the Astronaut as least favorite...he was fun to watch

Made me laugh...

A lot of kids can be influenced to do lots of things under peer pressure and just trying to fit in

No doubt, peer pressure can encourage a good person to do stupid things, liker destroying property, shoplifting, etc., but it CANNOT make a good person commit a premeditated act of extreme violence that is meant to result in the death of another person.

quote:

A lot of athletes have this issue when they stick with their friends from home. College football is a business and a lot of these guys need to cut ties with people that are bad influences in their life when then play major college ball

You are assuming that the football player is not the bad influence. Not a safe assumption.

Regardless, good people cannot be influenced by anyone to commit premeditated murder. And, this would be murder if he was more skilled with a gun.
quote:

Hate this for Trey.

Why would anyone feel bad for Trey Holly.

As CatfishJohn has written in this tread, it is very easy to avoid shooting another person. If Holly went to someone else's apartment with a gun and then shot someone, he is the last person that anyone should feel sorry for. He did exactly what he wanted to do, and it was one of the worst things that any person can do. There is no rationalizing this type of act.

Many in this tread are acting like this was one bad decision. There were a number of ridiculous decisions that had to be made for this shooting to occur. It was a premeditated act of violence that no one should tolerate.

I don't believe many Bama players will enter the portal unless they are already thinking about it hard. In these kinds of situations there is a tendency for humans to stick together. IMO Bama will not lose many players with this coaching change.

Not certain I agree. When the Pear was fired, almost everyone left, leaving us with essentially no roster.

A competition that Hurley has no chance of winning. Underwood is an otherworldly talent and prospect.

Such a dumb statement. Physical talent does not guarantee success as a college QB.

Both are very talented players, and only one of them has actually signed with LSU. I am very hopeful that Hurley plays to his potential and that Underwood actually signs with LSU. It would fun to see both of them play.

I don't say this lightly, but there's every reason to believe he will be better than Burrow.

A ridiculous comment. Let's let the guy actually play some college football before saying he will be better than Burrow, arguably the best college QB ever.

That's a big no.

What part of this ridiculous idea was not a GIANT no?

So Florida State should be left out b/c their conf champ opponent had a bad game the week before? Bama needed a last minute miracle to beat Auburn. Texas lost to Oklahoma. FSU is a power 5 school that went undefeated and even beat two SEC teams.

No. They should be left out because without their QB, they are no longer competitive at the highest level of CFB.
